“Experience history on the Saratoga Passage”

Cama Beach State Park
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 8 April 2013

Last weekend four generations of daughters in my family gathered in five Cama Beach cabins for a retreat. This is a unique place to stay, in a beautiful setting right on the beach. The cabins were built in the 1930s and have a rustic simplicity from our grandparent's time. They are clean and with all the necessities, including beautiful handmade quilts on every bed. We stayed in the deluxe cabins, so we had inside bathrooms and four sleeping places per cabin. The wind howled and rocked us to sleep, but the sun came out for hiking and beach walking the next day. No cars are allowed in the cabin area, so a shuttle picks you and your gear up in the parking area, and brings you back when you leave. There is a a great restaurant called Cama Cafe, with delicious baked goods and espresso. I can't wait to return!

Went with some friends and stayed in one of the cabins. We had a blast! It gets very quiet by 8:00 at night but that didn't stop us from having fun. We even watched a wedding right outside our door.

We come here every year with my family, the atmosphere is kinda 1950's...at least compared to what I have seen in the movies :) We love it!

no directaccess to the beach. you must walk a long hill or wait for bus. Advertised rentals but found them to be booked for years in advance. Small beach, unfriendly workers.

It was worth the $10 bucks to get in (my wife made me say this, haha). The cabins are from the '30's and are well restored and look fun to stay in. The Seattle Wooden Boat Works has a place there to rent sailboats and rowboats. A little too cold and rainy for that today, but will do so in the future. Brand new lodge above the beach. Looks like a return visit will be required.
