We recently stayed at the Camano Island Inn and found it disappointing.
It lacked attention to detail--the plumbing had problems (though this is probably forgivable given the age of the building), one of the bedside lamps was broken, the sheets were torn, the room was small (and so was the TV)--and overall felt impersonal. The food was average; we were served essentially the same thing (egg souffle) both mornings of our stay (and while there was delicious fresh fruit, there was no meat at either meal, contrary to the breakfast description on the inn's website), and we were upset to discover mold in our jam the second morning. There were a few excellent elements: the huge and luxurious bed, the heated tile in the bathrooms, the gorgeous view out our window. Overall, however, we felt the price ($200 a night for the second-best room in the off-season) was too much for an average experience. We've stayed in places that cost half as much and made us feel ten times as welcome.
