My husband and I stayed here for one weekend to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary. It's a well kept property in the main part of the small town of Carson. Extremely clean and well maintained. No cobwebs or forest critters! I thought it would be even more secluded and into the woods than it was (the property was just yards away from some residential homes and across the street from the general store), but still a nice getaway since Carson is by no means a bustling metropolis. It was actually really convenient to be located by the general store, to get ice and stuff, and "raw nature" was just a short distance away! We stayed in the Elk Cove cabin, and it was very quaint and well appointed. They had clearly thought of everything, including a cutting board and a wine corkscrew. There was no stove in the room, but there was a microwave and fridge and we knew that going into it. We had cooked our own food in advance and brought it along in a cooler so it was no problem at all to heat up in the microwave for an intimate dinner in the cabin! The great thing is you can be as active or as lazy as you want! The cabin has board games and a dvd player, and they have a stack of movies available for you to borrow free of charge. There are cute nooks on the grounds with hammocks and a fire-pit, and paths to meander through. Breakfast was wonderful each morning, and Pete and Latisha were very warm, accommodating and extremely helpful, but yet gave us enough privacy and opportunity to disappear. Considering it was our one year anniversary, I would have expected perhaps a more personal touch like a hand written note saying "congratulations", like you get at other hotels and even at some restaurants. But that really wasn't a big deal at all and the service was overall excellent. It was the perfect home base for exploring the Columbia Gorge area. We were just a few minutes drive from all sorts of parks, landmarks, waterfalls, etc. The area is so beautiful and it was great to return to our air-conditioned cabin in between adventures. It really felt like home!

Room Tip: The cabins are pretty cozy in a row next to each other, except the three large cabins that are separated from the rest. However, there are "walls" of sorts on the porch to give you more privacy.

Carson Ridge offers a great combination of privacy and luxury in your own cabin. We stayed in Green Leaf, facing the meadow and hilltop. The king bed was very comfortable with luxurious sheets which you can purchase if interested. The cabin had a table/2 chairs, bar area (with small refrigerator, coffee pot, etc.) spa bath, shower, TV, fire place, porch with swing, table/2 chairs. Amenities are top drawer!
The 3 course breakfasts provided by Peter were delicious! Impossible to leave hungry! Peter was also very helpful in directing us to various activities, restaurants and other attractions in the area. We especially enjoyed our hike to Panther Creek Falls, a short drive/walk from Carson Ridge. When you stay here, you will leave with a feeling of having been pampered!

This placed impressed us and we travel all the time. Pete and Latisha, the owners get my 3 Cs and L labels. That means it was cozy, comfy, clean and a bit of luxury. We liked the sheets so much we ordered a set and Latisha took care of it all for us. The cabins were small but very clean and decorated nicely. Loved the jetted tub in iur room and we never usually even use them. Food was amazing. You wouldn't know Pete was a geneticist because the good was so gourmet. We had a wonder egg bake each morning and French toast that was to die for. I highly recommend this place. Plus there are a ton if outdoor stuff to do around Carson. We used wet planet to whitewater raft and did tons if hiking.

Stayed: July 2014

We visited for our anniversary. Great service, good breakfast, luxury as advertised. Saw a doe and fawn just outside our cabin. We had the knotty pine cabin on the end. Well kept. Don't miss the hammocks. Went to Lost Lake on the Oregon side for a great afternoon of canoeing. A bit tough on your wallet, but worth it for a special occasion.

We arranged for family from three states to arrive and share time - each in their own cabin. The cabins are cozy; fireplaces, all that - checkout their site - but you are in the woods - literally, so don't expect the Waldorf - although I will say, the Waldorf could take a few hints on service from these folks. 5 star service - across the board. Want a fire to sit around - no problem. Want a big fire - no problem. Want a wedding venue? No problem. Want an atmosphere that is premium in setting, service and experiences? No problem. Breakfast in your cabin? No problem. No problem - no problem - no problem. Where do you find that?!!?? Here.

Rafting, wineries, Hood River shopping, beautiful scenery, hiking galore - NOTE: Panther Creek Falls is very close and very easy to miss. Forest gnomes keep stealing the signs - so now there is a PAINTED sign ON the road POINTING to the hidden trail. PC Falls ---> The Forest and woods as they were meant to be enjoyed....God touched this place folks - go enjoy it.

Clever : )

Room Tip: um....any?
