Campbell's Resort on Lake Chelan
Ranked #2 of 12 Hotels in Chelan
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 26 May 2014

Situated on the bank on the south end of Lake Chelan, Campbell's has long been a personal and business destination for me. This last time, I was there for a conference. The resort is located in the best location possible if you are staying in Lake Chelan. It is right next to a bridge that takes you over to Riverfront Park, which has a miles long peaceful and serene walking trail along the river. The water is crystal blue and the trails and Campbell's property is well maintained. There is a Starbucks directly across the street, shops, Safeway, & a small downtown within walking distance. Plenty of food options, but the restaurant/bar upstairs is your best bet. Great food and cocktails. We sat in the breezeway and loved the ambiance. The rooms are okay. There are several buildings that have been completely renovated (1 & 3) and if I went back, I would ask to stay in these. Some of the other rooms, like what I stayed in in building 4 are older. The toilet continued to run, so I had to fix it and there were several large hairs in the shower from the maids missing them. Not too big of a deal, but it should have been caught for a place like Campbells. The sunsets on the balcony every night were beautiful. Sipping cocktails and visiting with friends on the balcony were priceless. I would definitely go back. This is a great place to take your family or have a conference. The management were very accommodating, friendly, and the place is family owned and has been for decades. The conference facility worked very well for us. Plenty of A/V connections, food and beverage options, and attentive staff. Highly recommend staying here.

Room Tip: Ask to stay in the newer, remodeled rooms in buildings 1 & 3

This is my third year back for our annual conference. It is always a joy. The staff is Always friendly. The banquet staff is especially great. My colleagues and I appreciate all the little things they do for us.

Room Tip: I've never had a bad room, and have stayed in several of their buildings.

Dated, but clean. Great pool(s), nice restaurant and bar. Which they opened sooner for weekend sports events in East Coast. The beach is the big feature. There is very little here that is special, but when you do the simple things right, it doesn't have to be the Ritz.

Booked a 2 bedroom unit. Pictures on website looked great. Was put in lodge 5. Apparently the only building that hasnt been updated. The toilet, tub and sink was this awful outdated blue grandma bathroom. The room felt dirty and dingy and we did not want to even sit on the couch. We went to the front desk and they moved us to an updated 2 queen room. Way better and the staff was so nice about moving us

We chose Campbell's after reading the positive reviews, but especially the location. You are right near downtown, markets, and parks, so walking to everything is very easy, and you're on the lake front. The resort is made up of multiple buildings and we were in building 3, on the second floor. Our room was spotless with nice decor and comfy beds. There was a balcony with chairs and table that looked out over the pool and lake as well. The grounds are immaculate! Lovely plantings, baskets, and lawn - and perfectly tended. A bonus was the breakfast credit which was included with our stay. The restaurant is lovely - perfect setting and service was attentive. There is also a menu in which to chose your meal from - it's not a set continental breakfast, but whatever you want. I highly recommend the French Toast! On another note - the front desk staff gets my highest rating for their customer service - really outstanding - knowledgable, patient, thorough, professional. We will definitely return!

Great location right on the lake, nice beach and right across the street from downtown shopping and dining. Was here for a business meeting for 2-days. Prices a bit high for the early season I thought. Rooms nice, but basic. Refridgerator, and small balcony were nice to have. You do get a Seattle Times paper most mornings.
Meeting facilities a bit dreadful, art on the walls was just not all interesting, no windows. The group dinner was the worst I have ever experienced. A few small slices of beef, overrun with gravey, as was the most basic mashed potatoes and then the biggest hunk of broccoli I have ever seen to make the plate look full.
There are other options, shop before making final decision

Room Tip: some rooms have fireplaces, if that is something you desire

Families have been coming to Campbell's Resort for generations. Multi-generational families returning every year are common and that's why it's hard to get a reservation -- the resort is popular and the top of the list for summer vacationing. First of all it is convenient to the Seattle metro area, only about 3 1/2 hours of easy driving away. Secondly, it is east of the mountains and warm sunny weather can more-or-less be counted on all summer long. Thirdly, the resort itself has lots to do -- paddle boards and kayaks for rent, three swimming pools, plenty of sandy beaches, good lake swimming, hot tubs, green grassy lawns, barbeques, picnic tables, cafes and restaurants with cheery wait staff who are used to family dining, and access to shopping and dining in the town of Chelan. For the adults -- spend some time visiting the wineries around the lake. For the kids -- a day at the water park is great fun. There are biking paths, boating, fishing, tennis too. We're already booked.
