The Quality Inn Clarkston is an up to date, clean, and slightly luxurious property. Our tab was $125 on AAA for a jacuzzi room on the river. Unfortunately, we got in late, were tired, and didn't have time to properly enjoy it with needing to get up for the jet boat tour in the morning. The staff was friendly and efficient, and the included breakfast and drink coupons were great. I recommend it - but not because it is next to the boat dock for Bemer's jet boat tours - take Snake River Adventures instead.

Room Tip: If you're going to be around in the daytime, choose a river view room - very relaxing.

Here is a hotel located right on the Snake River. It has a restaurant and bar that overlook the river. A rare thing in these parts. However, management just seems to miss the mark here.

The rooms have been updated with new bedding, but the bathrooms still have the same wallpaper from the 80's. There are no real suites just rooms without a second bed and a sofa thrown in. AND there are no so called "suites" that have adjoining rooms. Those rooms that do adjoin are only on the parking lot side.

The restaurant serves a decent breakfast, but twice the eggs arrive cold, but not congealed on the plate. Nice trick. The fruit cup which was an up charged replacement for breakfast meat arrived with sliced bananas that had turned brown. The restaurant closes early in the evening and therefore it is not possible to have anything to eat in the bar. Oh well, the bar closes early as well. And this is summer with the placed packed to the gills.

On the upside, the staff is really great. They try hard, are prompt, cordial and accommodating. However, they are working on a treadmill with an uphill grade.

We stay here often as it is almost the only game in town. Each time we think think what a great place this would be if only . . .

Room Tip: Riverside views face the north and are cooler in the summer. While you escape the parking lot noise...

Thank you for taking the time to leave our hotel a review. We appreciate hearing that you enjoyed our staff while staying with us. With regards to your comments, I am happy that you are bringing these things to our attention. I will be taking your review to our manager's meeting today so we can discuss the different things that you brought up. Some of the items are things that we can't fix, when the hotel was built they did build all of our connecting rooms on the non-riverside of the hotel. We wish that wasn't the case, but that's how it has always been.

Again, thank you very much for bringing these concerns to our attention. We hope the next time you stay with us we can have them resolved!

Unfortunately room 223 smelled like smoke even though it was a non smoking room. Paid extra for the room because it supposedly had a view of the river but it actually had a view of the the driving range. Was disappointed. Other than those issues, room was big and clean. Bed was nice. Need bigger pillows Bathroom were clean with a shower head that actually worked right.

This was the first day of a 6000 mile road trip and we arrived tired and hungry on a 90 degree day. I am a member of the Choice Hotels rewards program and have always found the hotels in this chain to offer clean accommodations and a good breakfast so we turned off where the signage indicated. As we approached I noticed that the hotel had an adjoining restaurant which would be really quick and convenient as mostly I wanted to stretch out and rest more than anything after a long day of driving and didn't relish the idea of having to drive around town looking for a suitable restaurant.

I found the desk clerk to be friendly and helpful and we were able to reserve a pet friendly room on the ground floor. The room was clean and had all the amenities (personal care items, hair dryer, ironing board, free wifi) and there was a long walking path right along the river to walk our two doxies. The pool looked sparkling clean and there were some families enjoying it immensely. The landscaping was quite beautiful with lots of flowers and provided a pleasant view from the room and from the restaurant.

My only disappointment was that we discovered that the restaurant was not open for dinner on a Sunday night but the desk clerk suggested a riverfront seafood restaurant just a short drive away. Our room reservation included a free breakfast in the restaurant and we took advantage of it in the morning. The menu was not extensive but it did offer French Toast, pancakes, waffles, eggs, etc. There was quite a wait, though, and I'm not quite sure what the problem was.

The rate we were quoted ($130 plus taxes) was a little higher than I expected but this is a Conference Center so the rates probably reflected that.

we booked a handicapped room for each night of our 13 day road trip through choice hotels. Our first two night found us with great rooms, friendly staff and a reasonable price. This room was the most expensive of our entire trip and was a miserable stay. First the room was not usable with a wheelchair. My mother was not able to bathe and her wheelchair would not fit beside the bed so she had to pull herself from her wheelchair AF the foot of the bed. When we asked why we were not placed in a handicapped accessible room we were told that if we had called the hotel directly to book we would've been given a wheelchair accessible room, but as we booked through the toll free choice hotels number, this is what we got. Essentially punished for using the booking service the chain provides and encourages everyone to use. No discounts, no apologies. Then we go to the free breakfast to find that while everyone else can be seated immediately, we will have to wait 20-30 minutes for a handicap table. They offer take out and we had a schedule to keep so we were happy to just carry out. But we were told that we would have to pay for the breakfast if we chose not to sit in the dining room to eat. Absurd. Will never be back.

Firstly I would like to say thank you for taking the time to leave our hotel a review. Secondly I would like to apologize for the inconveniences that you encountered during your stay with us. We are limited on the number of accessible rooms that we have, those rooms are very specific when being sold so we are unable to move someone else out of one. Had we known in advance that you were in need of an accessible room we would have done whatever we could to accommodate that need. As for the restaurant, they should have allowed you to take your food to go without a charge, and I am very sorry that didn't happen for you. I have already spoken to the manager that was here that day, plus the other supervisors of the restaurant to make sure that nothing like this happens again.

We hate to hear that you won't be back, however we understand. Please let us know if there is anything that we can do to earn your business back.

With regards,

Danielle Scott, CHA

The bedding was clean, but the pillows were small and tired. Having just replaced our RV pillows with king-sized, top quality pillows, and using similar pillows at the previous hotel stop, it was like sleeping with small sofa pillows.

The hotel is convenient to the dock for Beamers' Hells Canyon jet boat tours (be sure to take a good lunch of your own), and also convenient to shopping.

I didn't like the little placard in the bathroom that listed the prices for many of the items in the room, informing one and all that the guest would be charged if any of these items were taken. I wouldn't dream of taking these things, and I would hope that many of their guests feel the same way. Perhaps add this warning to all the boilerplate you sign when checking in, and omit the in-room notice?

In comparison with the hotels we stayed in before and after this trip, this one is not up to par, and we won't be staying here again. The staff were helpful and polite, but the bed just wasn't as comfortable, due to the pillows.
