“Peacefulness & fresh air, but a tad cramped for space”
Reviewed 29 July 2012

The secluded setting where the cabin colony is located makes for wonderful sleeping and relaxing. No city noises or smells; a perfect peaceful getaway location. The cabin has all the basics, as described by other reviewers. It was sparkling clean and inviting. The bedroom floorspace was just big enough for a queen bed and small night-stand. No room for a luggage rack, but there were handy hooks on the wall for hanging coats or garments. We were traveling with two suitcases, and so set them up in the living/dining/kitchen room (the other room in the cabin). That was okay for just the two of us, but we needed to take up some of the precious floor space. The bathroom is off the bedroom and just one step away (literally!) from the bed, and the builder/designer gets points for creatively including all the basics in a very tiny space. The cabin's covered porch was a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the country setting. The pathways through the nearby woods were very inviting. All in all, a unique getaway.

Room Tip: There are B&B rooms in the main farmhouse as well as cabins. The cabins are at quite a distance...

We spent 2 weeks in the National Parks of Washington, and this was one our favorite places we stayed. We only were there one night, but the owners were very friendly and it was obvious that they put a lot of love into the new cabin we rented. It was clean and well furnished, and there was a herd of cattle right outside. The view of the Mt. Baker area of the Northern Cascades is nice, too. We would recommend Ovenell's to anyone.

We stayed one night in the Woodsman cabin, which has a little kitchen, cozy bedroom, and a shower. A romantic cabin with nice decor and the basics you need, including coffee packets. Our only gripe was the wifi which had a strong enough signal but would not connect no matter what. For the price of the cabin for one night a reliable wifi connection should be provided. Also there were no paper towels or napkins in the kitchen although there was an empty paper towel holder; it would have been nice to have had paper towels. But the setting was pleasant and the cabin clean and well maintained.

Room Tip: See if you can find a room or cabin with a good wifi signal that will actually connect, if this matt...

We have just updated our wifi at the cabins. We found that our router was not working and have installed a new one with more range to include all of our units. If a cabins is missing and item please feel free to call management and we will remedy the situation immediately.

I agree with the other reviews. This place is secluded but not hard to find, so you won't hear any noise. We stayed in one of the cozy cabins, which had mini fridge, microwave, utensils/pots/pans/plates, etc if you wanted to make your own food, though food recommendations in town were great. They were running a special so got a deat, but they offer AAA discount if no deals going on. I would definetly go back.

Room Tip: Only stayed in one of the cabins, but I don't think you can go wrong with any place on this prop...

The owners at Ovenell's are friendly, helpful, and have thought of everything you might need. We stayed three nights in the Eagle cabin in June 2012. The rooms are very small but cozy. Bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living room. Everything we needed was provided - cookware, dinnerware, etc. We made our own breakfasts and lunches and tried some nearby restaurants for dinner (see Annies Pizza). The location is just outside of Concrete, WA on highway 20, so it is very convenient to visit Mt. Baker, Baker Lake, and the North Cascades. Beautiful country. Sadly it was cloudy much of our time there, but we can't blame them for that! When it isn't cloudy, there's a great view of Mt. Baker from the property. It was very peaceful having a cabin to ourselves vs. the normal hotel accommodations!

My children and I spent several days at the end of December 2011 in the Foreman Cabin on this 500+ acre cattle ranch. The owners were so kind, pleasant and helpful. Since it was just after Christmas, they invited us to partake in their own home-baked goodies they had on the table which was perfect after our long drive. Ovenell's owners took the time to show us all the sites in the area from a map and took every question I had patiently. The cabin was extremely clean and comfortable. The fireplace was so cozy and warm and the bathroom was spacious with thick towels. I highly recommend Ovenell's and I intend to go back. The entire area is gorgeous. As I had selected this Inn based on the area wanting to see the migrating bald eagles during this specific time, I needed assistance in knowing what restaurants were there and how to see the bald eagles. They recommended taking a boat ride down the Skagit River with a local company - Wayne and Melissa's Ackerlund's "Skagit River Guide Service". They even called the company and for us and then handed us the phone. What a magnificent and wonderful trip it was - made for memories my kids and I will have forever. We spent almost 3 hours with Wayne explaining the eagles, the salmon and the area for us. He even made a stop and gave everyone hot chocolate. It was a grand tour as we saw about 100 bald eagles during the river tour.

Room Tip: The Foreman cabin's bathroom was big with very high ceilings. It had a separate bedroom with a...

We loved the Woodsman cabin for a one-night stay, making ourselves right at home in its cozy embrace. All booking arrangements and check-in were fine (we happened to check in when cookies were just coming out of the oven - a bonus treat!). The cabin has everything, including a gas log fireplace to warm it quietly. The bed and bedding*, as previously reviewed, were excellent. Highly recommend Annie's Pizza down the road! Absolutely the best, which we took to our cabin for a romantic dinner. I followed the advice of a reviewer and brought bottled water for drinking, coffee and tea making. Very glad I did, as the mineral odor is prominent. We look forward to going back to this idyllic spot. Recommended: Ladder Creek Falls trail at night, in Newhalem, which was our featured destination and the reason I searched for a place in Concrete. Also, a morning walk on the expansive ranch property and down to the Skagit river, recommended to us at check-in, was beautiful. *(My only complaint, which I've stated in another B&B review: the perfumed dryer sheets used for the linens! Please use unscented ones, please, please...)

Room Tip: Review the photos on the website; I selected the Woodsman because the ceiling looked loftier, but th...
