“Best choice in town”
Reviewed 6 October 2013 via mobile

Checking out the other dots in town, this is obviously the best choice. Queen room was functional but very small and smelled funky. But it appeared clean. Pillows were not lumpy as others noted actually had a reasonable nights sleep. But don't expect to use the bathroom at the same time as anyone else. It's slightly bigger than a bathroom in Paris. This would be a good value at $50 but overpriced at $77 + tax

We were leary from the other review, but they were too picky and need a Hilton or better to please them. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We looked at a double room and decided to get 2 rooms side by side. This is because of my snoring. The rooms are very clean, and the A/C worked great. My wifes room has a stove and sink with all dishes and pans furnished. We had plenty of room to park our boat and car.The TV has way plenty of channels. It is quiet and we have chairs and a small table outside to sit and enjoy the world. The county park with boat launch is 1/2 mile away, and we will be back again and we will reccommend this to our friends and family. The price is comparable to other motels in the area.

This is really the only accommodations in Coulee City. It is a small (10 unit), local motel in a small town so can't expect too much. A family member had told us that it had been remodeled so we were encouraged. We had a double room since they don't have king beds so we got a room with 2 queens. We were kind of surprised that the room cost us $85/night with tax which seemed high to us. To register, the office is locked so you have to buzz them. We were greeted by a lady who appeared to have been drinking since her actions were a little odd and she appeared to be happier than most people would be (we did see her sitting outside drinking beer later in the evening). When we opened our room, the room had an unpleasant smell, certainly not a clean smell. The room consisted of 2 rooms - one that was like a typical motel room and one with just a bed it in - and an odd shaped bathroom. The bathroom only had a small shower stall and the sink area was barely wide enough to get both shoulders into. It was in the 90's outside and no AC going. We finally found the AC which was an older wall unit in the 2nd bedroom. It took a while to figure out how to turn it on and it was VERY LOUD! Even with it running on full, it really only cooled the 2nd bedroom. The two chairs were broken down with upholstery coming apart and very stained. The window sills had dead flies and spider webs. And don't expect a hair dryer since there isn't one. There were little soaps and the packets of shampoo, but the water was so hard, nothing would lather. On the good side (thus the 3 stars), there was a functioning refrigerator and microwave. The beds were firm and the pillows were lumpy messes. Surprisingly, we did sleep well, but we can sleep in most places.
