It is a clean and decent motel about an hour from the entrance of Mt. Rainier National Park. The breakfast is decent, although advertising it as a hot breakfast is a bit of an overstatement. There are not many decent restaurants around, and gasoline is very expensive in the area. The internet connection was a little slower than normal. The cable channel lineup was a bit small. The room comes with a microwave and refridgerator.

This was a wonderful place for us to stay. There were nice clean rooms and comfortable beds. We also loved the tile in the bathroom area, it added a nice touch. We have stayed here before and we definitely noticed the fresh new changes. We enjoyed our stay, once again, and we will be back for sure!

The Mill Village Motel is comfortable, clean and convenient; for trips to the wildlife part, Mount Rainier Scenic Railroad, and or the National Park. And it is the only real city in the area. So if you want to stay in a city vs a town when visiting the area, you have but one choice: The Mill Village Motel.

As for the motel itself, don't expect much. While it is fairly comfortable, the reason for staying there is the local activities and day trips which you can do from there, and not the motel itself. However, the staff are very nice and helpful. And they offer a free (hot) breakfast, which is nice.

Room Tip: Go for the 2nd floor, unless climbing stairs is a problem.

We stayed one night, not really expecting much. But we were charmed by the manager, Phyllis, who went out of her way to make us feel welcome. That was just the beginning. When we asked about local kennels for our dog there were none nearby, but Harrison Christian happened to be there and he made arrangements for the dog while we went skiing on Mt. Rainier.

The room was just fine, no complaints. But what really made the experience special was the graciousness of the owner and staff.

There is a good restaurant across the parking lot, and a grocery store and old style cinema wihin a couple of blocks. Very convenient location within view of Mt. Rainier. We will definitely stay here again.
