The Edmonds Travel lodge is a perfect budget hotel when busy with activities in town. I spent minimal time in my room while attending seminars at Rick Steves Travel Center so my needs were simple: a comfortable, clean room, low price, safe neighborhood, and easy access.
I found all of these needs met above expectations.
Upon arrival I requested a second floor, non smoking room and was quickly accommodated.
This is a motel style hotel and a 2nd floor room felt safer as I was traveling alone.
The room was clean as a whistle, the sheets crisp, cotton, and bed most comfortable.
The weather was sunny for Seattle, but quite cool so I used the heater which worked quietly.
The towels were larger and thicker than average and plentiful. The television was not flat screen so no high def, but worked fine and there were many cable offerings.
Nearby were gas stations, stores, and small restaurants and the drive to downtown Edmonds was a short 10 minute or 3 mile easy commute.
Breakfast was included and the kitchen was loaded with a variety of offerings including cereal, toast, fruit, bagels, juices, coffee, tea, danish, and most delightfully, a waffle iron with pre measured batter for a delicious freshly made breakfast.
The hotel offers free wi-fi and a computer in the lobby for free.
The front desk personnel were all friendly and helpful.
This is an ideal place to stay when busy in Edmonds. Although it may have been sweeter to stay right in town, the huge value of the Travel Lodge is well worth it.

There was dirt on all the linens. Smelled of smoke even though it was non-smoking room. There were burn holes on the broken tv. It was filthy disgusting and gross. Will never return! Advise spending a bit extra and saying somewhere else.

The building was in good shape, appears well taken care of for an older style building. Probably remodeled at some point. They tried real hard to put the things modern travelers want into old style (small) rooms.

My Daughter and I stayed here one night - if I hadn't payed ahead we would have stayed by Alderwood Mall it was closer than I originally thought. It was the worst place ever. It felt unsafe, very dirty (see pictures) blood? or something on ceiling we didn't notice until laying in bed something on headboard. They tried to paint over dirty (spots) on walls and ceiling. There was something disgusting on the wall by toilet paper holder I noticed the next morning. I was wondering if the sprinklers would work if needed-they were hanging out if ceiling (see pict). No elevator, you enter from outside of building -it feels unsafe. The crappy TV has basic cable not many channel options and there are two remote controls you have to use to operate. They had to. "reset" our cable box and it took 1/2 hour !
They guy said because someone before us couldn't operate it messed it up. Unfriendly staff at the front desk when you let them komo how your stay was. This place needs a overhaul and much better cleaning (especially the walls). I should have taken warning when old mattresses and nightstands are outside the building. Horrible experience!

Booked on line through the website. On line photos looked great, that's where it ended. For some reason I did not read the comments as I was in a hurry and I was having trouble finding lodgings close to the ferry as my husband had to go to Kingston for golf the following morning.

You do get what you pay for in this hotel. There are only a few hotel motels in Edmonds Wa. The Best Western was double the cost.

As Leslie B said, the proprietor is unfriendly, no hello, welcome or anything. We also asked for extra, pillows and the guy acted like we would steal them, had to make a note on our reservation.

However, the rooms were adequate, appeared clean, the area left a lot to be desired. It seemed like this hotel had a lot of clientele that paid by the week. We looked in on the breakfast room, but did not stay, it looked sketchy.

So all in all it was adequate, but the staff were not welcoming and in this economy, there should be more interest in your paying guests.

Room Tip: No idea except stay away from the stairs.
