Caravan Kebab and Girardi's are our two favorite restaurants in Edmonds and we go to both place frequently. The menus are very different - Caravan Kebab is more eclectic with entrees of Indian, Mediterranean and and Eastern European choices. The atmosphere at Caravan is authentic and quiet and the prices are very reasonable. Located in Firdale Village, not far from downtown - about a mile - the drive is very much worth the effort!

Really wanted to like this small, family-owned restaurant with a varied menu an we went here due to reviews on TA. Unfortunately, out of the four dishes we had only one was good. The naan that the waiter recommended was the worst we've ever had. It was flat, oily and tasteless. The spanikopita was so-so, but there was very little spinach or cheese in it so not much flavor. For the entrees both the beef stroganoff and the chicken curry came with carrost and squash on top of the noodles (stroganoff) and rice( curry) and I noticed all the dishes servers were taking by had the same.

While the curry, "mom's recipie" was tasty it was not better than other Indian restaurants. The stroganoff was just not good. They put pomegranate seeds in it which did not add well to the flavor and it tasted sort of sweet. May be for some tastes, but not ours.

Finally, service needs some work. The had three women running around delivering food, cleaning tables, etc., but only the one man can take your order and he takes his time.

Travelling for business, I found a flyer and coupon for this restaurant at check in. An unassuming front in an off the path strip mall hid the warm and colorful eastern decor on the inside. The food was amazing and cooked to perfection. I never thought I could enjoy a cauliflower soup so much. Service was excellent and the chef visited to make sure my experience was "perfect".

We had gone to a movie on our anniversary and came into the resturaunt about 1/2 hr before close. We orderred what the server recommended and were very pleased with the food! They made us a special desert for our anniversary and did not rush us at all. We were there 1.5 hours. My boyfriend paid cash and left a healthy tip. As we were driving away, saited and happy, the server rushed out to the car....My boyfriend had dropped a $20.00 out if his wallet onto the floor! We were amazed that this little hole in the wall place had such great food and fantastic service.
