“Bad”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 October 2013

We decided to book at Travelodge in Ephrada as being a long standing chain we thought it should be OK at worst. When we checked in the people were friendly, however noticed the office dirty apearing and had not seen paint in some time. Rented the room and found the bed so old the springs were poking up making for a very poor nights sleep. Woke up sore all over. The bathroom had so much mold just thinking of a shower made me feel dirtier. Wife asked for an extra blanket and was told to turn heat up. Was given a blanket so stiff we could not decide if it was in storage way to long or just dirty. Did not use it. Had considered staying two nights but were glad to leave the next day. Would have paid twice the price at Best Western down the road if we had any idea.

This property was quirky, convenient but a bit outdated in decor/bedding/bed. Our king size bed was low to the ground and had a plastic sheet under the sheet, and was very springy, not real comfortable for what seemed like it was probably the best room in the house. The staff was very friendly.

Very noisy area, with a train that runs through and blows the whistle every few hours all night long and many people out and about at all hours. The hotel was fine for one night as a place to rest after a concert at The Gorge, but it is very outdated. It was hot, but the air conditioning had only two settings - off or blasting. The heat did not seem to be coming on. The TV choices were very limited. The room was as clean as it could be, but the pillow cases did appear to have some small blood stains. We ended up wrapping our sweatshirts around the pillows. We saw the breakfast area when we checked in late in the afternoon, but it was pretty minimal and not appealing. We didn't have high expectations for such a low cost, and only wanted a place to sleep for a few hours, but I'm not sure it was worth it. The bed was small and very uncomfortable. The bathroom and shower were the best part of the room.

Just wanted a clean inexpensive room to sleep in after attending a concert in the area. After driving 6 hours we were ready to shower and relax before our event. Check-in was at 3:00 however we didn't arrive until 4:25. The nightmare began upon entering the parking lot. The place is very scary and run down, to say the least. It's the kind of place they use to film movies when they need a skeezy scene where the cops bash the door down and find the hooker and the bad guy. But being a grown up I understand the "get what you pay for" cliche`. Just needed a clean bed and shower, so I figured I take a chance. A quick look around the filthy office was the first indication that we had entered the Twilight Zone. The table that was to hold tomorrow morning's "continental breakfast" still sported this morning's left over dirty Fruity Cheerios container and crumb covered toaster. Was told by the front desk clerk, when she finally arrived after a 10 minute wait, that our room wasn't ready and might be in an hour. Although nice enough, she seemed to lack any concern regarding our disappointment. Only excuses of how busy they were trying to catch up on yesterday's work and how the owners wouldn't get them any help. I'm not a big fan of reasons and excuses, especially when I am paying in advance for a service. So we made the best decision of our entire week by going down the street to the very clean and fresh Best Western where the staff was awesome, our room was spotless and the continental breakfast was yummy. Yes, it cost a few more dollars, but you gotta trust me on this folks, when looking for a room in Ephrata, Wa., avoid the Travelodge at all costs! You can thank me later.
