One of the most delightful experiences ever. This remote "get away" will not be for everyone, but if you don't mind the drive and the remote nature of this lodge you will love Kalaloch Lodge. We stayed at the Seacrest house in the resort and had a wonderful second floor room with an ocean view. It is rustic but well maintained and a magnificent staff. The folks at the restaurant, especially John, Andrea and Angel, were the best. A great bar with a great view. We took advantage of the AARP Bed and Breakfast package and were not disappointed. It was a wonderful few days surrounded by good people, great scenery and wonderful relaxation.

Room Tip: Choose a second floor room. They are much quieter. Cabins as well as Seacrest have the best views of...

Clean, well appointed two-bedroom cabin with fireplace. Comfortable. Bring food staples to prepare breakfast and lunch in the well-stocked kitchenette. Restaurant food expensive and delicious. Easy drives to Ruby Beach, Hoh Rain Forest and Lake Quinault. Helpful staff. Beach to roam and well-maintained grounds. View of ocean facing west. Lots of swallows to enjoy. Even sighted river otter tracks and trail drag. Other guests were friendly. During the time we stayed, the cabin special was $99 per night.

Green Features: There was a recycling bin in our cabin with instructions. Only towels left on floor are replaced. Low flow shower head. All soap, shampoo, conditioner, and hand cream was from a dispenser.

Such a beautiful spot! The cabins were clean, very well stocked and comfortable. Food at the restaurant was wonderful. The staff were very friendly in the lodge, restaurant and cleaning crew. We only had a couple of nights here and I wish we could have stayed longer. The beach is amazing. The prices are a bit steep given the amenities but it is an experience like no other.

If you ever visit Olympic National Park, this is the place to stay. It is located along the coast and it is very rustic. My wife and I stayed in the Seacrest, a beautiful room with a sliding door on the balcony. We could hear the ocean all night long. In the room was two beds and a refrigerator. They also had binoculars and a walking stick people could borrow during their stay. Prices are a little steep and the only place to eat in the area is in their dining room. Food is fine and reservation should be made for dinner. Overall, a beautiful place to stay and would recommend this place to anyone.

We had a wonderful visit. The cabin was clean; the beds were comfy and the grounds well-kept. I do think the prices are steep but we were going to a memorial service with a group of friends so price was not a consideration for this trip.

peaceful and relaxing. great walking beach. the weather cooperated. I found the lounge styaff to not be helpful but enjoyed the experience. we would come back but I wouldn't fill out another survey. I find the 200 character reiew minimum to be absurd and irritating. will this disqualify me from the drawing?

Room Tip: go for a view. we had room 8 in the lodge.

Green Features: appreciated the emphasis on conservation of water and minimal make up of room.

We booked a cabin. We knew it would be simple (we've stayed in the cabins in Sol Duc in Olympic National Park so assumed it would be along the same lines). I'm fine with rustic but that shouldn't mean it is not clean.

Backing up, we arrived at 3.30pm. Our cabin was not ready which was fine as check in was at 4pm. At 4pm we returned but it was still not ready. Kudos to the staff for offering 2 free appetisers at the restaurant to take up some time but 4.20pm check in was a frustrating start.

Over the two days we noticed a number of issues with cleanliness and upkeep. There was an old coffee filter in the coffee maker. The floor of the fibreglass shower was cracked. The exhaust fan barely made a noise (and didn't make any noticeable difference). There were black patches around the bathroom walls that may be dirt or may be mould (if it was mould then probably a result of an ineffective fan). There was sand grit in our bed (the first night - we hadn't slept in it yet). When we opened the curtains, dust and small dead insects fell out on to the window ledge. There was dust and cobwebs through the logs to the ceiling of the cabin. There is no kitchen exhaust fan above the cook top so anyone frying would leave cooking smells and grease throughout the cabin. The whole place had a smell that triggered my allergies and my son's asthma.

I am fine with rustic. But I'm not happy with unclean. We received a $50 discount at checkout upon reporting some of the issues but they really need to get someone with a bucket of soapy water and start scrubbing from the ceiling. So much potential but so disappointing.

Room Tip: Skip the cabins
