OK. Frills and dolls appeal to some guests, I'm sure. But not us. So we wouldn't choose to decorate our home in Misty Valley style, but that doesn't mean it's a bad place to stay. Welcome was fine, but room was small and relatively dark, given the lightness and airiness of the main part of the property. Constant cake on tap, so good for the sweet-toothed and some great birdlife to spot on the bird table at breakfast. Just off the highway, so be prepared for the sound of trucks. Forks has clearly seen better days - sad to see it so run down.

While the Misty Valley certainly wouldn't be to everybody's taste as the décor is homely and sometimes quirky, the innkeepers went out of their way to welcome us, give us the low down on the local area and produced some excellent cakes on arrival. Breakfast every morning was stunning if perhaps in size a little overwhelming for non-Americans but at least we didn't have to eat again until dinner time. Certainly we got to try many beautifully flavoured home-cooked things the like of which we haven't tried anywhere else. Surely a Misty Valley cookbook should be produced in the future !

Hands down the best B&B I've ever stayed at. Hospitality beyond measure, literal gourmet personal attention to incredible breakfasts. The view from the individual decks overlooking the valley below was the perfect end to our day. Thank you, Rachel!

Its a shame to have read such rave reviews for Misty Valley and not be able to do the same, but unfortunately this really was not our cup of tea at all. Whilst Rachel, the innkeeper went out of her way on our arrival to welcome us, we found the whole set up a little uncomfortable. We were quizzed on our breakfast selection for the next morning straight away on arrival, but all the choices given were very very unhealthy and there were no savoury choices, so if you don't have a sweet tooth this really is not for you. However the apple souffle I had was very tasty, but should have stood alone, without plates of muffins, spiced fruit and all sort of other sugary preceeding courses. There really was no choice for my husband who does not eat sweet foods by choice. We were also asked our preference for a breakfast wake up tray, and we asked for tea and coffee, but were only given one cup, and a pot of luke warm water which did not constitute tea. No sign of the cofffee or an apology. I really think the hosts need to move to a more modern approach as they clearly are talented cooks but it is wasted in this quantity and with so much fat and sugar, even when on vacation. Also we had been instructed to be very prompt for breakfast the next day but when we arrived the table was full with the other guests, with no space for us so we had to linger rather embarrassingly until they decided to leave, and then wait another 10 mintes whilst the table was cleared of their dirty crockery. The regimental system does not seem to work.
The location is stunning and we would not have missed the humming birds or the recommendation of sunset to the beach, but to be honest it felt like staying at an elderly aunt's house. The decor is very dated, a little shabby at the edges ( depsite the owner expelling about her linens?) and the bathroom very old hat. I too, like other reviewers, like my sink in the bathroom, not by my bed. Oh and please, can you turn off the fountain that is running outside the bedroom window. It makes you think constantly of a running tap.
I am sorry to not be in agreeemnt with other reviewers because I could see how proud Rachel was of her establishment. Sadly her husband didnt seem so quite so welcoming and we felt a little sorry for the two teenage girls helping with breakfeast as they seemed to be getting a very hard time, but were very sweet and polite.
The more negative reviews appear to be from younger guest but we dont fall into that category so I don't think our lack of enthusiasm is because we are not ofthe correct demographic for Misty Valley. I think its more that they seem trapped in an 80'2 time warp.

We are sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay at Misty Valley Inn. We would have apologized for the problems with the tray and stay but didn't know there were problems until we read your review. If we had know about the problems, we would have tried to correct the situation. While we offer six different item for you to choose from for breakfast we also meet the needs of many special diets if the guests let us know about their dietary issues.

My wife and I stayed two nights at the Misty Valley Inn in July, 2013. Our room was wonderful, and Rachel has many nice touches like morning wakeup with a gentle knock on your door (prearranged time) with a tray with morning coffee and a beautiful note filling you in on the weather tides, etc. The view from the B&B dining room and deck is indeed a beautiful Misty Valley. Rachel gives you a choice of 6 breakfast items, three of which we sampled, and all were excellent! This is an area of microclimates, with the Hoh Rain Forest and coastal parts of Olympic NAtional Park close by. A wonderful stay with wonderful hosts.

Misty Valley Inn location, room and property are very good. The food served by this Inn is out of this world. They offer their guests 6 chooses of breakfast entries...we choose an Apple Soufflé and a Moroccan Omelet, both were incredible. Plus they served homemade pastries and a fruit dish before our entries. In the afternoon, they offered us homemade lemon bars, brownie and chocolate cake. The inn Keeper, Rachel, is a top notch cook and baker.

This is a beautiful B&B! I can highly recommend staying here! The rooms are very pretty and have so many details to them it's wonderful. They have a whirl pool from where you have a nice view it's very romantic. The breakfast is so good! You get several amazing options to choose from for breakfast. The owners are very kind people.
I honestly think there is no way to do a B&B any better than they do it.
I wish we could have stayed longer. It was fantastic!
