Warm, caring, comfortable! Misty Valley's host/ hostess, Jim and Rachel, cared greatly that
we enjoyed our experience with them. Their attention to details to our needs
was impressive. They and their availability of information for our visit to
the Olympic Peninsula and surrounding area to be positive was so helpful.
Our room was great with everything we needed and hot coffee (tea or hot
chocolate) as we awoke. Oh! And breakfast! Oh my, just wait for a real
treat...! Each choice is a culinary delight. You will love Misty Valley!

Our "private patio" overlooked a large forested valley. The Misty Valley Inn is centrally located on the Western Peninsula near Forks, Washington, allowing easy access to many of the scenic beaches and the Hoh Rain Forest. Each morning the gourmet breakfast was decadent and made to order from a list of options. Rachael & Jim were attentive to our every need.

Room Tip: The Dutch Room met our every need, and had a private balcony.

Deck overlooks beautiful valley of trees. Lovely landscaping. Beautiful facility. Christine was very friendly and nice. When we arrived she gave us a tour of place. Did not like that when we arrived and entered house it was overwhelming smell of scented candles or burning or perfume or something. Food is offered right when you get there- a desert spread. My man liked the treats, especially the brownie. No vegan stuff. Very comfy bed with nice sheets in French room Nice view out window of greenery. Not a lot of room for 2 people in the French room. Desk and chair and bed take up all the space. No cabinets or shelves in bathroom to put your junk on! They could easily put shelves up. Glass tables like a nightstand-don’t like that-sharp corners and I worried about making noise or leaving a mark on surface. They take custom order for breakfast night before. The guy we ate with in the morning had a huge waffle doused in whipped cream. It would be nice if they offered healthy, lighter fare. We did not like the fruit apple cobbler. Coffee served was very weak in flavor.

We had a pleasant experience overall. On arrival we were given a tour of the house and the outside areas, asked what we would like for breakfast and given info on the Forks area -- where to eat, things to do, etc. Coffee, tea and dessert were waiting in the dining room in the evening. The house was clean and cozy. We stayed in the English Room, which had a private bathroom with double sinks and large tub. The morning coffee service brought to our room before breakfast was a lovely touch. And, the breakfast -- very good and very filling! Other reviewers have commented about the decor and I have to agree, the dolls and antique furniture don't really go with the style of the house and its not my taste, but it would not be enough to keep me away if I were in the area again.

Room Tip: Check out their website and read the description of each room before booking.

OK. Frills and dolls appeal to some guests, I'm sure. But not us. So we wouldn't choose to decorate our home in Misty Valley style, but that doesn't mean it's a bad place to stay. Welcome was fine, but room was small and relatively dark, given the lightness and airiness of the main part of the property. Constant cake on tap, so good for the sweet-toothed and some great birdlife to spot on the bird table at breakfast. Just off the highway, so be prepared for the sound of trucks. Forks has clearly seen better days - sad to see it so run down.

While the Misty Valley certainly wouldn't be to everybody's taste as the décor is homely and sometimes quirky, the innkeepers went out of their way to welcome us, give us the low down on the local area and produced some excellent cakes on arrival. Breakfast every morning was stunning if perhaps in size a little overwhelming for non-Americans but at least we didn't have to eat again until dinner time. Certainly we got to try many beautifully flavoured home-cooked things the like of which we haven't tried anywhere else. Surely a Misty Valley cookbook should be produced in the future !

Hands down the best B&B I've ever stayed at. Hospitality beyond measure, literal gourmet personal attention to incredible breakfasts. The view from the individual decks overlooking the valley below was the perfect end to our day. Thank you, Rachel!
