“Wonderful, friendly B&B”

I really enjoyed staying at the Misty Valley Inn. As a single woman traveling alone, I really appreciated the personal attention I received from Rachel and Jim and felt very safe and comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent and very generous. The chocolate cake, brownies, and lemon bars were also excellent and available all day long, as well as coffee and tea. I stayed in the French Room and it was clean and comfortable with a private bath. I highly recommend the Misty Valley Inn and will stay there again should I be in the area.

Where do I begin? This could possibly be the best place I ever stayed. We began our 4 night stay after a 14 hour drive and immediately were made to feel at home. Rachel, the inkeeper and chef (master chef in my opinion) walked us through the procedures and policies of the inn and then had us choose our meal for the next morning. When the food was brought to the table the guests oohed and aahed. The presentation was special and the taste was delicious. When asked by the waitress if she could get him anything else, one of the guests said, "Another stomach, please!" The food was delicious and plentiful. This is only a four room inn, so we felt special being there. And we were treated like we were the most important guest they ever had. I highly recommend this inn to anyone who wants to be pampered and see some of the most beautiful scenery there is to be seen. Olympic National Park is a great place and we found that 4 days was not enough to explore it all. We will probaply be back in the future. Guess where we will stay?

We stayed two nights at Misty Valley. Our host seemed to be "baching it" - but he was great. So friendly and helpful in terms of places to visit - best trails, beaches, etc. We loved the dessert bar - actually didn't even go out to dinner the first night we arrived, just snacked on lemon bars and chocolate cake!
Of all the B and B's we stayed in during a 2 1/2 week trip to Oregon, this was the best value and the one where we felt the most comfortable. The breakfasts were massive and delicious - you get to choose the night before - every detail of what you want - so it's something to look forward to, for sure! And because they are cooked to order, you can make your own choices. There is no "meat" involved - so this is a great place for vegetarians and for the rest of you, you'll just have to go elsewhere for bacon, I guess. The view off the deck was lovely - enjoyed watching birds and chipmunks. Our rooms were clean and comfortable - no complaints there at all. For the price, this B and B couldn't be beat! We didn't see any vampires, though, but I guess that was a relief!

My bad for booking two nights in Forks. We could have done everything we'd intended to do in a single day and, frankly, there isn't much doing there (they roll up the sidewalks at 5:00 p.m.!). But I'm not writing to take a shot at Forks...

My wife and I had a very nice stay at the Misty Valley Inn. Our hosts were personable and helpful. As several prior reviewers have noted, the dessert "sideboard" was terrific. Rachel bakes a serious black forest cake--yummy! We stayed in the Dutch Room, with its private deck and awesome valley view (you'd swear you were looking at a French impressionist painting). We missed out on the elk, too--oh, well. The room was spacious and nicely appointed--it even had two sinks in the bathroom (always appreciated).

The breakfasts were excellent--and MASSIVE. In fact, we took "doggie bags" of the food we couldn't finish to the Hoh Rainforest and had it for lunch. Rachel and Jim set out food for the birds and small animals in the neighborhood on the deck outside the dining room, and it was a blast watching them--who needs TV??

If I have a nit to pick it's the fact that it was difficult to operate the thermostat, and the room temperature fluctuated a bit. No biggie.

All in all, a very pleasant stay.

We stayed one night at The Misty Valley Inn. Our host, Dave, met us at the door and showed us through the house, including the yummy-looking "dessert bar" set up on an antique sideboard in the dining room. THAT came in handy later!

We stayed in the Dutch Room, with king bed and private bath. It was very comfortable. Our room also featured a sliding glass door out onto the deck that stretched across the back of the house, with a great view into the tree-filled meadow. Although pictures on the coffee table in the lounge area show that elk frequently visit, they decided to stay away while we were there, darn it.

Dave provided us with recommendations for dinner in Forks, and took our orders from the breakfast menu, including our choice of hot chocolate for a "wake-up tray" outside our door at our requested time in the morning. We enjoyed the hot chocolate out on the deck while he prepared breakfast. My husband had the logger's pancakes (warning -- these are not mis-named and would feed a small family!) while I had a splendid apple souffle. The cinnamon croissants were to die for. Following breakfast, we used the Inn's wireless internet to catch up on email before heading out to the Rainforest.

It was a very nice stay and we were made very welcome by our host.

My wife and I had a wonderful staying at Misty Valley Inn. We were visiting the Olympic National Park, and Forks was close to the beaches and the Hoh rain forest. The host Jim warmly welcomed us on a cold night, and we had warm freshly baked chocolate chip cookies as we as hot drinks. The B&B is very clean, wonderfully decorated, and has beautiful details. The Dutch Room is spacious and has a terrific view of the valley in the morning. Breakfast was great! We had a number of dishes to choose from, and was full and satisfied, ready for a day of hiking in the park. We felt welcomed and pampered during our stay, and the hospitality of the host is first class. Highly recommend this place!
