“Wonderful bed-and-breakfast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 September 2007

The view out over the valley is spectacular, our hosts were friendly and helpful, the food (your choice of several breakfast entries) was beyond excellent— and to top that, Misty Valley adds services you don't find in every bed and breakfast. The sideboard always stocked with coffee and homemade desserts was a pleasant surprise. The hot tub with a view was very welcome after days of hiking. And the morning wakeup tray of coffee at our door was a real luxury. We were able to set the time of the wakeup tray and also our time to sit down for breakfast . The Bennetts really go the extra mile for each guest.

We had a very nice stay at Misty Valley Inn in August 2007. The place is quiet, though our bedroom was on the highway side of the house - thankfully very quiet at nigh -. The bedroom are decorated with a nice but not very professionial touch: this is a B&B, you feel like you are staying at some friend's place, not an international hotel.
The host was very friendly and knowledgeable about the Olympic Peninsula. The yard is filled with birds and you can even enjoy the hot tub with a view on the valley.
Breakfast is a major entreprise! We were first awaken with a cup of coffee/chocolate at the bedroom's door. Breakfast at the host's table in the dining room was fabulous: fresh juice, spicy hot apple and a choice of pancakes, waffles, omelette, french toast, soufflé or crepe that are served on huge plates. You'd have to stay for 6 nights to try them all out.

Close for day trips to Hurricane Ridge, the ocean beaches, and Hoh Rainforest, Misty Valley Inn provided a wonderful place to wind down at the end of a full day. The dessert bar was a surprise...perfect for a sweet tooth as we sampled them all, enjoying the view from the deck and sipping delicious hot chocolate. The rooms were very comfortable, the hosts gracious and personable, and the breakfast incredible! Our guests' eyes widened when their strawberry crepes were served; the pecan waffles and omelet (our choices) were rich and beautifully presented. You can hear the traffic on the highway, but you can say the same for most lodging which is located near highways and freeways, can't you! Our guests had never been to a bed and breakfast, and what a special way for them to experience their first. We'll be back!

This was my first experience at a Bed and breakfast for myself and my husband. We chose to stay at Misty Valley Inn for our 1 year anniversary. The hospitality was wonderful and the views from the deck were fabulous. The owners made us feel so welcome there and the small touches they did in the room we stayed in made it feel so homey and comfortable.
The breakfast we had was the best there were huge portions and I highly recommend the strawberry crepes for breakfast. If you want a nice home away from home feeling I highly recommend staying at the Misty Valley Inn in Forks WA.

In case you read this Mr & Mrs Bennett please give moemoe lots of hugs and pets from me.
Sincerely
Shannon McKerigan

From the moment I was greeted at the door upon my arrival, from the moment I regretably packed my bags to leave, The Misty Valley Inn is top notch all the way! Jim and Rachel are the most warm and welcoming hosts I had ever met. The location of this beautiful B&B is awesome for access to the HOH Rain Forrest and pacific coast beaches. Jim was so helpful in planning my day as the beaches require a visit at low tide. Jim looked up the times and gave very helpful pointers for which were the best beaches to explore. Local knowledge is always the best and both Jim and Rachel are so readily available to answer questions and give tips. So now the breakfast! You are greeted with a light tap on your bedroom door at a wake up time that is selected the night before with a beautiful tray adorned with flowers and delicious coffee or tea. Your breakfast selections are also made the previous night and are served in the lovely dining room with wildlife to watch. Absolutely delicious and impeccably served! The bedroom and bathroom was very spacious and immaculate with a bed so comfortable it was hard to leave in the morning. I cannot say enough of the hospitality and service! Jim and Rachel are #1. Highly recommend The Misty Valley Inn and hope that I can return there soon!

As you'll soon see, lodging is few and far between in this part of WA. Finding this place was a miracle and a nice one at that. The room (Irish Room I believe) we stayed in was very nice. The deck is nice to sit on in the evening or early morning for watching the elk in the neighboring nursery. The hot tub was also a nice addition. When we arrived, the owner's son was the only person around, he got us situated and we were on our own from then on, free to roam the property. The next morning the owners were present and served up an interesting breakfast. It was "interesting" in that it was things we had never had before, and we're not used to more than 1 course. The owners have/had 2 dogs while we were there. If you're not a dog person (I'm not), you may or may not like this place. One of the dogs growled fiercely at me until the son took them away. After that, we never saw them again, so all was well. The dog piles on the drive way were less than attractive, but the yard seemed to be pretty clear of land mines. Would we be back? Definitely. When lodging is so scattered in an area like this, it is always nice to find a good place to stay, and this is one of them.

We just got back from 2 nights at the Misty Valley Inn B&B while exploring Olympic National Park, and wish we could have stayed a week there! Our hostess Rachel was gracious and friendly, the grounds were beautiful, the
prices reasonable, and the food was SUPERB! Rachel had brownies and a raspberry torte out for snacks when we arrived in the afternoon, with the best dark chocolate cake baking in the oven. For breakfast, we had a choice of several delicious and filling entrees--another reason to go back and try the rest, as we only got to strawberry crepes, Irish waffles with orange sauce, apple souffle and mushroom omelet. (It helps that she is a
dietitian and home ec teacher.)
The rooms, which have some antiques, are attractively decorated to go along with the themes (English, Irish, French & Dutch). Ours didn't have a large window or TV, but there is a TV room. Besides the private baths, other common amenities include a grand piano and a huge upper deck with a spa sheltered underneath. The grounds, nurtured by Rachel's husband Jim, are filled with gorgeous rhododendrons, roses, perennials and containers with annuals. The deck overlooks a meadow where elk herds bedded down and grazed daily. We didn't have large windows in our room or any kind of TV or radio (there is a TV room), but we didn't miss it. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, the wake-up tray of coffee at our door, and most of all the feeling of total relaxation and being spoiled at Misty Valley Inn.
There are not many shops or exciting places to eat in Forks, but it's not far from Port Angeles for those who prefer more choices. One of the highlights of the whole trip was getting a pizza to go and eating it on Rialto Beach, where Rachel says Kodak shoots their sunset beach pictures. (We kept taking pictures until the sun was gone, and the view was gorgeous!) Another day we went into Olympic National Park nearby to see the lakes,
mountains, Hoh River, and moss-hung trees of the rain forest.
We hate to spill our secret for the best B&B in Olympic National
Park, but had to express our appreciation for Misty Valley Inn. We think it has the prize--hands down!
