We stayed August 10 in oceanfront one bedroom cabin #20. The cabin was very clean and well taken care of. It was a luxury cabin and it was nice but don't expect anything fancy. Remember where you are and just enjoy it -this is the rugged NW coast. The configurations of the cabins make them feel very private when sitting on the deck. We had great warm sunny weather and the beach was great to walk and explore and also just to sit on our deck enjoying the view. We watched an amazing sunset sipping wine and it was magical. We had read that it is pretty isolated so we bought some food in Forks on the way and did dinner in the cabin's kitchen. We really enjoyed our first visit here.

Room Tip: the deluxe ocean front cabins are great.

Oceanside Resort (330 Ocean Front Dr, La Push, WA 98350) boasts a variety of accommodation options - motel rooms, small A-frame cabins, larger cabins, and two-storey cabins as well as serviced RV lots and tenting sites. Nearly every building has a spectacular view of a wild, beautiful west coast beach. Some of the RV sites (where we were parked) have a view but all are close to the ocean. Large, bleached logs have been tossed onto the sand & pebble beach during the winter storms. Many surfers were enjoying the waves; children played in the sand & people walked the beach. Washroom facilities were rather basic but the proximity to such a stunning beach made me forget those shortcomings.

This was a happy accidental booking. We had booked a river-rafting trip in the Hoh Rainforest and were looking for something nearby...but Forks and the other towns' selections were "ehhh".

We booked an A-Frame Camper Cabin, the one with the shower. It's really small but cozy, and there are even some cooking and eating utensils in the kitchen. And the beach is right outside, about a two-minute walk at a casual pace. Was a very peaceful and relaxing place to stay and really loved it. There's even a little coffee stand near the check-in building.

Only caveat...cellular phone service. I had Verizon and had a signal. My boyfriend had AT&T and couldn't get a signal. However, that's an issue with the mobile providers and isn't a fault of the resort. Just be aware that you might not have a mobile signal...which was kinda nice, because it was a good way to disconnect from the world.

We splurged and reserved a "luxury" cabin for one night, and were excited about staying here after spending several nights in more cramped quarters throughout Olympic NP. We arrived 15 minutes before check-in and were told our room was not ready, and to come back in 30 minutes. We then saw staff head down to our cabin to presumably clean it. It was indeed ready in 30 minutes, which made me wonder how clean it would be. Other reviews have commented on the lack of cleanliness, and while things were not terrible, the floors all seemed sticky and a few windows were a mess. Not the best start.

We stayed in cabin 27, and several of the things people commented on years ago in their reviews have still not been fixed or addressed -- namely the stained floor near the bathtub, and a light fixture missing a cover in the bathroom. When you are paying so much to stay here, these things really stand out, as does the attitude of the front desk staff, which was unfriendly, to say the least.

We loved the sunset view from our deck, and enjoyed looking out the big window at the ocean while playing cards and relaxing in the late evening. It was really nice to be so close to the water, and we liked the experience of staying on the beach. But would I stay here again? Probably not, as I expected more.

The town of La Push is a bit scary; the beach is gorgeous as are the sunsets; restaurants are in short supply. We actually traveled to Forks to eat and grocery shop. The cabins themselves are really, really nice. Our cabin was clean. We were right on the beach, which made this location just that much better. My major complaint is customer service. I am convinced the clerks at the check-in desk have never had any training in customer service. I do not believe they have any ability to extend any common courtesies, which is really sad. This is a great piece of property, but management really needs to invest in some classes.
