the beauty of the gorge at sunset. I was there for Sasquatch Festival 2009 and 2011; it was absolutely amazing to see some of my favourite bands play in front of such a beautiful view.

“One of prettiest venues in the country”
Reviewed 5 April 2014

I have been to concerts in almost every state-so many venues-from small bars to huge amphitheaters, have melded together into one big blur. Some stand out. The Gorge is one of those places. You have a BEAUTIFUL view as the sun sets. The best stage backdrop outside of Red Rocks. There is a great platform along the side of the stage-go there for a drink and watch the sun and the river. The floor is best for dancing because the hill is a bit steep IMO but it is a free for all so you can go wherever you want. They have easy access to free water and water showers for cooling down. The staff are chill. A bonus of course-especially for multi-night shows-is the camping on site. There is no shade, which does suck because in summer it gets HOT. But, the campgrounds are chill and it is nice to walk back to your tent after a show and not be sitting in traffic. Lots of port a lets and so importantly they were clean! Too many places slack on that. Here there was always TP and they were cleaned often. There are some camp grounds outside the Gorge that do have shade and I would recommend them if you don't mind driving out and want a quieter shadier experience. There is also access to the river a short drive away for swimming (the water was a bit iffy) and a park area where I actually went and took a nap under a tree. The park was like $5. It was worth it for a shaded nap. Bring your own food or you will be sorry (unless it is a show where you expect tour venders then you are set). There is a burger place in "town" and it was packed. It was also not very good and way overpriced. There is rock climbing nearby or if you are less adventurous there is the Gingko Forest-a short hike with chunks of fossil wood behind bars to look at. Okay, I am a paleontologist and I found that a bit boring. The bars detract from it but are necessary because people would just steal it otherwise. In all, this is a great place to see a concert and camp for a few nights. Make sure you are prepared and it will be an enjoyable time.

it's open terrain and near the river so wind can always be an issue..
noisy but fun in the campgrounds and a short walk to the amphitheatre...

Went for three days of Dave Matthews Band and camping over Labor Day weekend. Absolutely gorgeous setting to watch a show. I will definitely be back for more!
