We decided to head out to Ocean Shores for a weekend, after an almost unbearably hot week in the Seattle area. Some friends of our met up with us there, and stayed at the Shiloh Inn in Ocean Shores. We opted for this place, partly because of the price, but mostly because every other room for 50 miles was taken. Evidently we weren't alone in wanting to head to the beach.
They gave us a room right next to the laundry room, downstairs. Bad idea, especially considering we had our dogs. Every time someone walked by, or opened the door to the laundry room, they would bark. Also, people would just loiter in front of our room, waiting for their clothes to finish. We tried to get a different room, but they were sold out. There were kids in the parking lot yelling, evidently with no parental figures. I don't know how they were able to rent a room. We called the front desk to complain, but they didn't answer the phone .We ended up having to tell them ourselves.
The room looks dated and the bed was lumpy and well worn. They look like they painted it with great haste, and little to no money. It would appear the housekeeping is done in the same manner. The comforter was stained, and there was a dirty Q-tip on the bathroom floor.
The next morning I went to get the free continental breakfast. It was coffee, Costco Danishes, bagels with an empty cream cheese container, stale cereal, room temperature milk, and a 7oz glass of OJ from concentrate. To top it off, they watch you eat, and have signs warning people that food is only to be consumed in the lobby, and isn't to be taken to the room. As if I'm going to open a restaurant with the aforementioned items on the menu in my "suite".
Upon check out, we asked the manager why they allowed the loud, evidently unaccompanied children to roam the lot yelling. They claim to have not heard them. I find that quite fantastic. When we asked why they didn't answer the phone, the lady who was the manager, and evidently the sole employee, claimed she was in the lobby all night long, and the phone never rang. Evidently picking up the phone and dialing 0 gets somebody besides the front desk. We told her all that was wrong with the room, and the stay, and after a little prodding, she offered us 10% off. She claims that is all she was authorizes to give us, even though like I said, she previously claimed to be the manager. We contacted the national office, who refunded us half of the charge. It seems like, it didn't need to come to that, and made her look foolish.
If you are looking for a cheap place to stay that tasks dogs, this will work in a pinch. Just be aware that there are many c choices of places to stay, even with dogs. It is a room with 4 walls and a roof.

Stayed here for a night, the accomodation is clean and quiet.
The rooms are quite large especially on the 2nd floor.(high ceiling makes it look even bigger)

A guest before me inquired about the nearby restaurant, she replied in all honesty it was a place noone really likes and recommended another instead.

If you're going to the beach or Olympic it is a decent place to stay.

After reading recent reviews, I began to regret making a reservation here for a two night stay -- it sounded like the place was run down, dirty, and poorly managed.

To my surprise, I enjoyed my stay here. The rooms, though somewhat outdated and in need of maintenance, were quite large and very clean. There was even a maintenance man cleaning the outsides of the wall mounted air conditioning units when we arrived!

The location was reasonably quiet and the beds were adequate. I slept soundly and woke refreshed. The one flaw I noticed was a significant lack of water pressure in the shower and sink -- not a big deal but noticeable.

For the price, especially compared to the cost of other hotels closer to the beach, I'd stay here again.

First impression, horrid and run down. Unfortunately we paid online with a credit card and traveled a long day and so had to stay the night. Cabinets painted with one see through coat by poorly paid day laborers or the owners desperate for cash nephew, patches in the tub the size of the bathroom, non functioning air conditioning and bathroom fan, lumpy beds, unsavory area and a floor that requires slippers to walk on. I wondered all night long in bed and when I was forced to trod on the ancient disgusting carpet, if I would come away with bed bugs or a disease.

Pleasant staff, and we weren't robbed in the parking lot are the best I have to say about this hotel. Gives the Econo Lodge name a bad reputation. I will never stay at one again.

We wanted to have a nice weekend at the beach but didn't want to pay the 150++++ a night to stay at the beach so this seemed like a great option and all the reviews I read online were all positive. When you pull into the parking lot it seemed older but not horrible, however when you enter the room you can immediately tell the hotel has not been updated in decades. The bedspread smelled horrible and the cigarette burns in the sheets and mattress didn't help either. The mattress and pillows were uncomfortable and the furniture and the carpet were dirty and stained. The tub had hair still left in it after it was cleaned and so did the "freshly laundered" towels. Our key card didn't work after several tries and the staff didn't seem willing or knowledgeable enough to fix it. Don't stay here!!!!!!

We paid a rate of $54 so weren't expecting much. The room was huge and made the modest bed look even smaller. The staff seemed to keep the rooms fairly clean but there was a worn look to the place. The bed was pretty uncomfortable and had two tiny pillows. Otherwise everything was fine.

There was a very modest breakfast buffet but at least there was coffee and toast. We heard noise in the parking lot in the morning otherwise it seemed to be a quiet place to stay. The location is good if you are traveling on Highway 101 down the coast or to Olympic National Park.

Me and my family were going to Ocean shores for the weekend but rooms there
were $150 and more. Since we weren't prepared to spend over 150 per night,
we decided to look around a little more and on our way back from Ocean Shores the
first hotel we saw was the Econolodge Inn and Suites in Hoquiam for only $74.99.
Plus it was a big, clean room that was newly renovated. It was a GREAT value for the price. I definitely recommend this hotel to everyone, especially those planning
on going to Ocean Shores.
