I first saw paragliders launching off the Tiger site several years ago and knew that I absolutely had to learn. This year I finally got around to learning, joining Marc and Lan on "Team Chirico." I can't say enough about what enthusiastic and supportive instructors these two are, along with the whole complement of tandem pilots that work with them. These two have been teaching for 25 years, and quite literally built the Tiger Mountain launch site at Poo Poo point and the trail up (the Chirico trail) themselves. They open their home at the base of the mountain to their whole team, treating each student like family. When you join this group you instantly become part of a small, tight knit family of local pilots eager to share stories, share a beer, or lend you a hand.
Odds are if you're interested and take a ride, you're going to be hooked... but even if you only take a single tandem, you'll absolutely cherish the experience. Nothing compares to the simultaneous thrill and serenity of silently soaring in the air, spiraling around with the birds, and taking in breathtaking views of the mountains and sound that few ever get. If you've ever been fascinated by the idea of flying, this is absolutely one of the best ways to get into it. Don't just take my word for it; search "Seattle Paragliding" on youtube. Thanks Seattle Paragliding!!!
