We are members and go several times a year and enjoy it very much. The animals are well cared for and the staff are really friendly and chat with you about the animals.

Thank Dawn G

This is a small zoo but very nice for the family, especially with young children. The Reindeer Festival during Christmas is terrific and a must see.

This is a small professionally run zoo that features 4 Bengal Tigers and a small number of other animals. See very healthy animals up close in a modern setting along with one of the largest collections of cast bronze animals on the west coast. Staff is very professional and there are short informative lecture and enrichment chats every 1/2 hour. Many programs available, and go early in the summer day--very limited parking, no real food service, but that is not why you go to this hill side zoo, They also will host your special events. Very loyal following. Do see this small specialty zoo-children get close to the animals though certainly not a petting zoo.

We knew the zoo was relatively small so we didn't schedule too much time to visit. We arrived around 3 and the zoo was going to be closing at 4:30. Some of the animals were already "gone for the evening". But we did see cougars, tigers, crowned cranes, and a sneak peek at lemurs. Fortunately, we also saw the "reindeer" as in Reindeer Festival. For a small fee, we purchased apple bits to feed the reindeer. Got some nice pictures of my daughter feeding the reindeer. It was really cold - around 34 F. The gift store was NOT heated!! An indoor exhibition of various stuffed animals was NOT heated, either. Gift store had limited offerings. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and loved to interact with us. The view from the Zoo is just spectacular! That view is almost worth the entry fee by itself. The fee seemed steep considering the size of the zoo.

Love, love, love this zoo anytime of the year...but especially in December during the Reindeer Festival. Going to this small zoo should be on everyone's bucket list, if only, to talk to the Parrots that actually talk to you and you can get up close and personal with many of the animals. The Cougar Mountain Zoo is a fun place to have a birthday party too for anyone of any age.
