This place is right on the waterfront so you could have food and enjoy looking at lake Washington, it is a very busy place and it's a bit tiny. Food is okay, the burger is supposedly very popular but we think it is overrated. Price is very reasonable and since everything is pricy in. Kirkland, this is cheap compared to everything else around the area.

A very tiny place in Kirkland just steps from Lake Washington. Limited seating inside and seating outside for about twenty couples at plastic tables and chairs. Burgers, salads, soups and both fish and chips and a cod sandwich. We had the fish and it was perfect. It's not deep fried but was crispy on the outside and moist and tender inside. The tartar sauce they use has chipotle in it. Odd, but very good. Try the Gorgonzola and blue cheese fries. Two meals were $22.00.

I have been to The Slip about a dozen times. The only reason I go is because my husband loves burgers...any burgers, not necessarily quality burgers. The Slip is located in downtown Kirkland right near the Marina Park waterfront. It's a great place to go and sit outside to have a cocktail and people watch since the outside patio is right next to the sidewalk. But the food is pretty awful. I have ordered burgers, chicken sandwiches, quesadillas, and fries. None of them are good. The fries, in fact, are terrible. They are hard, flavorless, and your order is always full of little burnt end pieces. I would suggest going to The Slip if you just want to sit and enjoy a beer on a gorgeous day. But if you're hungry, go elsewhere!

Stopped here on a whim and found another restaurant that will not be here long. I hate to be contrarian about places like this however it is just another sloppy burger joint with a good location.
Nothing I saw gave this place anything to notice above any other place. Service was good and attentive. My Teriyaki Chicken burger was served swimming in canned sauce with a slice of canned pineapple hidden by the soggy white bread bun. First and last time for me.

I've been frequenting The Slip for a few years now and have not been disappointed by their house made veggie burger. It's a tasty mix of mushroom, grain, cheese and whatever else they throw in it. Sometimes, however, it's not tossed together well and is super sloppy to eat. Also, saying it comes with arugula should mean a small handful, not a couple pieces. When I first started going to the Slip chips and salsa came with the burgers but now you pay extra for that or any other side. I was told they reduced their prices to accommodate taking away the inclusion of sides, but I didn't notice a difference. With the current prices I still think chips and salsa should be included.

The restaurant is small but they have extended seating on their outside patio and in past summers this patio extends out to the concrete area next to it that provides a view over Marina Park. Not a bad deal on a nice evening in the summer! Expect to wait for a table on the nice, summer evenings at the dinner hour and maybe even lunch too. However, they're just a skip from the park so you can easily pass the time down there.

For parents with small children, they have highchairs but I'm not sure if they had a changing table in the restroom. The bathrooms at Marina Park have changing tables though.
