I move a lot, and every move means finding a good new mechanic, hairdresser and pizza joint. Usually the latter is the most difficult. It's taken four months to find a good pizza place on the eastside, but Acropolis is the best one so far. It was the first place to actually give me "extra tomato sauce and extra cheese" as asked for, not skimping on either. It was also where no less than three restaurant workers smilingly asked if I were being helped, as I stood by the cash register during the busy lunch hour waiting for my takeout pizza. (I didn't have to wait more than five minutes.) The sauce was flavorful, the mozz tasted reasonably fresh and the crust was crispy on the outside with a hint of chewiness, perfectly browned on the bottom - not charred like real wood-fired, brick oven pizzas that are heavenly when made right, but still quite good in its own right. Yumm.
