Great place for a special night or weekend. Common areas and rooms are beautiful. Great restaurants, bakeries and coffee places within a short walk..Very close to great shops and the new boardwalk. Will stay there again.

This is indeed the nicest lodging in LaConner and we were excited by the photos and taking the most 'luxe' room ($300 a night) which included a Jacuzzi and a private deck on the channel.

Positives:
Lovely lobby and siting area. Rustic and charming.
Cookies and tea and other goodies.
Very comfortable beds. Clean rooms that have character.
Modern big bathrooms.

Negatives:
For $300 a night I expected a breakfast that didn't taste as it had been bought at the 'Stop and Shop' and dumped out on the table. Non-descript breads that were wrapped individually in saran wrap. The breads were tasteless and you'd think with al the great bakieres in town and what they charge…they'd have a much finer selection. Besides the fresh fruit…the rest of the breakfast was so pedestrian that we skipped it two of the three days and went down the street to the amazing cafe that served breakfast.
The Native American 'meeting area' across the channel does shows that last late into the night are incredibly noisy. We were not warned before hand.
The staff is very inexperienced and could basically help us with nothing. only the manager (who was always overwhelmed because al these young employees were making her work hard) was up to the task.
From the photos…we thought our rom and balcony would be bigger.

If they spent more money on serving a breakfast that befits a hotel that is the 'luxe' lodging in town, they'd have much happier clients.
Sound-proof windows?
A staff that can answer questions or problem solve instead of saying 'sorry. I don't know'. Maybe adults working instead of kids?
A warmer friendlier atmosphere from the whole staff in general.
Update the rooms a bit (Bathrooms are updated and lovely)
There would have to be changes if we spent over $1000 for three nights again.

We stayed here for the weekend. Nice view if the channel and boats. Cozy. Clean. Breakfast was average but fresh fruit. Great location to everything in the small, cute little town. Perfect for romantic getaway. Gentleman at the counter even loaned us a cellphone charger since I had forgotten mine- super sweet and much appreciated it. Would recommend this place anytime with confidence.

La Conner might appear to some to be a bit "twee" seeming a bit like it has been pre packaged by Disney because like Disney it is perfectly manicured. The resemblance ends there though because the warmth of those who live and serve there has not been manufactured, it is entirely spontaneous.

The Channel Lodge is a gem too, with almost all of its rooms facing on to the Channel, affording great views of passing boats from its balconies equipped with easy 2 chairs.

We hadn't realised that our room came with a Fireplace and gas fire too which was a splendid surprise given the rather cool Whidby Island evening when we were there. It was so delightful in our room we arranged a take out and dined in front of the fire after sundown. We wished we had arranged a longer stay to take advantage of some of the many Restaurants in town which looked so inviting and many of which boasted good reviews.

Room Tip: Ensure you get a room with a channel view

We had a wonderful time during our weekend at the Channel Lodge. The suite was large and very comfortable, and the fireplace was a nice touch. The channel view (including post-July 4 fireworks from the Reservation on the other side) was especially nice. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. The Lodge was a great base for a quiet weekend exploring La Conner and the surrounding area.

We wanted to go to La Conner in the summer after first visiting there last autumn, and take our bikes to cycle around the area. The Channel Lodge was as lovely in the summer as it was cosy in the Fall. We spend 2 days at the lodge. It has a rustic country cottage feel to the lobby as well as the rooms, both looking over the water. The lobby had a person playing the piano in the afternoon and refreshments. The iced water with fresh orange slices was so refreshing on a warm day. The small wooden balcony off the room to sit on a warm summer evening and watch the boats go up the channel was very pleasant. The room was spotlessly clean. The staff were so accommodating and all with a smile. We asked if there was a secure room where we could store out bikes, they came right away and opened a room. They provided us with information about good cycling areas and a map, and offered to make dinner reservations for us at a busy local restaurant while we were off cycling. Then they called our cell phone to confirm to confirm the reservation and time. So nice.... we'll be back again!

Room Tip: Most rooms will face the water. It's a quiet area so no road noise. There isn't a bad room...

We have been coming here for years. We have tried other locations in La Conner - including the sister hotel - The Country Inn -- but none top the Channel Lodge. We enjoy the regular queen rooms -- have upgraded several times to suites, but like the bed close to the fire place and sitting area -- it's just us two. A small patio and the fire place help to create a very romantic atmosphere I enjoy sneaking a cookie in the evening and the nights when they have cheese/crackers and music in the lobby are lovely too. Breakfast is always delicious -- homemade granola and jam.
