Upon our decision to return to La Conner for a two day mini holiday after a 20 year absence, we needed a place to stay. After researching a few places on the internet, we decided on the Wild Iris Inn. Upon our arrival, we immediately knew we made the right choice. “Rose” introduced herself, advised of complimentary tea in the main lobby available daily. Upon completion of the check-in process, Rose personally showed us to our room – where we were shown how the fireplace, TV & DVD operated, the cd player and how to remove the cover from the outdoor "spa tub for two". The homemade cookies waiting for us were a nice touch that showed up daily. Our outdoor deck faced the pasture and had two wicker chairs. Even though a light rain was falling, we were able to have a glass of wine and read a book outdoor in comfort. It is apparent that our hosts love being inn keepers as they have taken care in giving their inn a personality - not a standard room in a standard hotel. Although Maple Street is a few blocks from the main shopping area, it is an easy walk. We parked our car and walked everywhere. As mentioned in other reviews, the sit down service breakfast was fantastic. We learned after day 1 to wrap the pastry for a treat later! The egg dishes had on both days were excellent and the coffee, tea, juice & water never stopped coming. The young woman who served us was extremely polite and accommodating - I wish she had told us her name - I forgot to ask. As a result of our stay at the Wild Iris Inn, we are already looking for other "Select" properties to stay at and will be back to visit the Wild Iris again.
Really liked - the Aveda bath products and oversized robes & towels, in room magazines and excellent staff.
Would change - would like to see the base temp lowered in the rooms (with the radiant heat it would be easy to increase the temp). Our first night sleep was a bit too warm during a cool spring. We slept with all windows open the following evening and were able to sleep better but wondered if the heat was unbearable in the middle of summer.

The Wild Iris is the best deal in Northwest Washington in terms of cost, location, and accommodations. Wild Iris has it all. It's comfortable, spotless, beautiful. Everything everyone else has commented on is true...it's just a wonderful place to stay. We have family in the area and we've stayed in La Conner 3 times before, at another inn on the water, but we will return to the Wild Iris! Lori & Steve, Innkeepers/Owners, could not have been more helpful, delightful and/or hospitable. And yes, the food is fabulous! What more can we say?

You may not have won the big spin, but you'll sure feel like you won the lottery if you decide to stay at this wonderful inn. It was recommended so highly that we thought for sure we would be disappointed. How could we know it would exceed our expectations in so many ways?

The inn makes a wonderful impression from the moment you walk in the door and see the lovely, cozy common sitting area with huge stone fireplace and lots and lots of plants. It is so nicely furnished it felt like we were in a beautiful private home. There was a gorgeous sideboard with a nice tea service set up and waiting for the guests.

We were greated by a lovely young woman named Rosie and one of the owners, Lori. They personally escorted us to our beautiful room that was, again, like something you'd find in a private home.

What a nice surprise to find 2 gigantic and beautifully baked fresh cookies (not the Doubletree or gas station kind either-these were the real, made from scratch, deal). Yummy!!

The addition of fresh flowers brought a bit of the adjoining flower fields into the room and were also a nice touch. Our room had a gigantic jacuzzi and wonderful bath products. It even had a fireplace, at eye level with the bed (I love that!) and a really nice Hi Def TV & DVD player (they offer the use of free DVD's). It even had a CD player and romantic piano music CD's to listen to and several upscale magazines. We enjoyed reading them while sitting on our very own private back porch.

The big test came when we went to bed. So many small inns have uncomfortable beds, but not this one. It was lovely , very comfortable and we had a great night's sleep.

The next morning we went down for a huge homemade breakfast with fresh juice, bakery items, housemade granola w/yogurt and fruit and a full plated breakfast too. We had to take our pastries with us as we were just too full to eat them all. The server put them in a lovely bag and after raving about the cookies the owner even added a couple for our trip home. The owners stopped by our table to chat even though you could tell they were busy and that is a personal touch that you really remember and take with you.

The location was great because it was away from the main street traffic but only a short and lovely walk to the heart of town. Rosie recommended a local restaurant, Nell Thorn, for dinner and we had a delicious meal there; as good as any in Seattle.

We have stayed in a lot of very expensive 5* hotels that don't offer the kind of amenities and hospitalitiy we were shown at the The Wild Iris .We came for the tulips, but would come back again just to stay at the Wild Iris.

Thanks Lori, Steve and Rosie. You and your inn are the best!!

Most Sincerely,
Dave & Anna Heffel

We had a wonderful stay at the Wild Iris. It was for just one night, but we definitely plan to return. The room was incredibly comfortable (loved all the pillows and the cookies were terrific!) and location was perfect. It was within walking distance to the shops, restaurants in LaConner. The inn was very comfortable, cozy and decorated in a lovely manner. We had to catch an early ferry so we missed the main breakfast, but the hosts arranged for us to have a "ferrycatchers" breakfast (sack breakfast) which was great! There was so much food that we had leftovers for the next 2 days!
The focus and care taken to make a stay at the inn memorable, is quite apparent. We'd definitely recommend staying here.

My husband & I went to La Conner to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We have been there before but only as a daytrip from Vancouver, B.C. So, it was fun to stay overnight & enjoy La Conner's charm!

There is a reason why the Wild Iris Inn is the #1 B&B/Inn in La Conner. It is stunning! The innkeeper's personal touch is evident everywhere: in the lovely decor & in the warm, welcoming atmosphere!

Our room (Deluxe King Suite) was gorgeous! But it was the small details that went so far to make our stay special ... from the fresh cut flower arrangement with its signature iris to the wonderfully decadent cookies that were waiting for us in the room! Also, the setting & the view of the farmland from our room added to our peaceful stay.

In the morning, we were treated to a delicious two-course breakfast which was served in the charming breakfast room!

Thank you, Lori for making our stay with you so special!

My wife and I loved this inn. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed every bit of time we stayed at the Wild Iris. My wife is still talking about the wonderful pillows they have. Breakfast was superb every day. On the last day of our stay, we had to leave early to catch our flight which meant we would miss their wonderful breakfast, but to the inn's credit, they actually packed us a sack breakfast for us to take along with us. This kind of service is absolutely amazing, and is completely unheard of. My wife and I are planning to stay at this inn again in September.
