I was recently treated to three nights at this lovely resort. It is natural, rustic, and yet luxurious. The word "hospitality" is often overused but not in the case of Langley's manager, Brenda.
She did everything she possibly could in the warmest possible way to make my stay comfortable and memorable. The view from the deck was lovely, the bathroom sported a double-jacuzzi and huge tile shower that had windows out to the views in every direction. Breakfast was earthy and delicious. Definitely make it a stop, if you're staying over at Whidbey island.

The Inn at Langley has one thing going for it - the view. It does indeed have a nice close up view of the Puget Sound, but that's about the only thing to recommend it. The room was not inexpensive and for the price one would reasonably expect a decent shower, and a quality bed. Our shower was pathetic - a tiny trickle that jumped from ice cold to scalding hot without warning. It would seem the Inn's entire plumbing system is suspect, given the loud nocturnal screeching of pipes from adjacent unit. The bed was barely adequate, soft and lumpy. Finally, at check-in, I asked at what time coffee was available in the morning. I was told that our room had its own coffee maker. Turns out the coffee maker was a hot water pot and 2 packets of instant. In fairness, when I informed the front desk person at check out about the shower situation, she was sympathetic, and right away credited $50 off our $345 room bill. Nevertheless, if you stay here, check out your bathroom before unpacking.

We stayed here after a long day of touring the island, not wanting to take the ferry and drive all the way home. We really enjoyed the room, the private deck overlooking the water, the service, and the overall "feel" of the place. Others have mentioned the worn appearance of the place but we felt it fit the setting with naturally weathered wood exterior. The breakfast setting was very nice, sitting outside in the garden, but no items offered cooked to order. We had a broken arm on a deck chair and a window shade that had a broken open/close rod. We felt it was too high priced for what we received.

What a fabulous place to spend a week. We experienced a delicious and creative dinner on Sunday evening prepared by the chef. Breakfast each morning was beautifully presented and delicious. We found the staff to be very accomadating and friendly. The views from our room were peaceful. The inn is very clean and thoughtfully decorated. The whirlpool tub and fireplace were appreciated. The spa was a wonderful treat. The location was so convenient to the delightful town. I highly recommend this Inn to anyone looking for a great place to escape.

Room Tip: We stayed on the top floor and it was a beautiful view but all of the rooms face the water.

Location/view is great, dinners are superb if you are here Thursday through Sunday. But beds are tiny, hot water in showers is iffy and duraflame fire places are worthless - should you really want a fire.

What a wonderful respite from the cares and stress of day-to-day living! Don't wait for your doctor to write you a prescription, just come and be healed! This is our favorite inn here in the Pacific Northwest, and so we have visited many times. Our latest three-night stay in July was again serene, restful, and as delightful as always. The inn is built on the west end of this scenic town so you can easily walk to all the shops, yet it is very quiet. Even better, the inn is built right down the side of the cliff with magnificent views of Puget Sound looking north to Camano Island and beyond. It was beautifully designed to blend into its surroundings, so much so that you don't even know it's there until you walk or drive right by it. Every room has the same spectacular view, each with a cozy balcony. Inside each room you will find tastefully understated furnishings that fit perfectly with the surroundings. You will also find a large whirlpool tub, a fireplace that burns Duraflame logs (which are provided), a mini-fridge, complimentary snacks to munch on, and wine glasses and a wine opener should you be so inclined to enjoy some wine in your room. Wine (and beer) are also provided at a charge.

Each morning an outstanding continental breakfast is served in the dining room from 8:00 to 10:00. The breakfast includes coffee, a couple of juice selections, a crust-less quiche, delicious baked items, fresh fruit and berries, granola, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, and more. We are always so full after breakfast that we don't need to eat anything else until dinner time!

Everyone here is friendly and helpful. Although the inn is top-notch, it is also comfortable and down to earth without any pretensions. There are four floors, and the top two floors are probably the ones that we would recommend, although there isn't a bad room here. We've stayed in rooms on each level over the years and have always been happy.

Because the rooms face north, it's always a good idea to bring something warm to wear as it can be quite cool outside on your balcony, even in the summer. During the other seasons, you'll definitely need to bundle up if you want to enjoy any time relaxing there. That said, there are many other places around the inn to sit outside when the sun is shining, so you don't have to stay on your balcony if you are too chilly. There are many tables and chairs along the beachfront of the property, and also more chairs in the front of the inn (which faces south!) overlooking the beautiful herb and flower garden.

Next time your travel plans include Whidbey Island, do yourself a favor and spend some time at the Inn at Langley. It's by far the loveliest place to stay in the delightful town of Langley!

Room Tip: The corner rooms are a little more money but also a little more private. Try for a room on the 3rd...

The inn is a model of great design. There is not a bad room here. All the "standard " rooms are the same with plenty of room, large whirlpool tubs, super showers and fantastic water views. If there are just two of you, the "standard" rooms are all you need. The breakfasts which are included are a step above continental but certainly well thought out and certainly substantial enough. The staff was professional and helpful. We also had the Chef's Dinner here so our final bill was fairly substantial but certainly worth it. If you do the dinner, request the main room. If you want to splurge, this is the place.

Room Tip: They are all good. I would attempt to avoid the first floor due to two flights of stairs.
