I am always curious when a place self proclaims it's self "a community hearth" or "Community builder" I really don't mean to be mean, but with two small children in tow I didn't want or need to wait 15 minutes for the manager to show the very cute teen trying to make coffee. Everybody was very pleasant but compared to ANYWHERE the coffee was bad and service was worse. I know NOW that it is a non-profit to teach teens work habits. I support that. Next time we are in Langley we will just drop off a couple of dollars and go up the hill to Useless Bay for our coffee

Enjoy walking thorough this area on a sunny summer day. There are lots of shops and interesting places to duck into. I especially like the used bookstore and their food fare.

South Whidbey Commons Coffeehouse is where South Whidbey youth learn about the world of work, as well as how to make a delicious latte. This bookstore/coffeehouse typifies Langley's love of community, art, and opportunities for youth. You feel the welcome when entering the cozy space, and become part of the scene as you interact with a young barista learning how to communicate with a customer. They are well trained and supported, and the coffee and food is great. Langley has lots of great places to eat. This is the place with heart. Funds raised by the Coffeehouse support the many wonderful events and programs for artists, musicians, youth, and families that are offered by South Whidbey Commons.
