“Peaceful retreat for family and friends - our quarterly family spot -”
Reviewed 10 September 2011

We are a family of 4 (kids aged 5 and 7) and have stayed at a variety of spas, hotels, resorts and vacation rentals over the years. The Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort is a unique experience - we are lucky to be in such close proximity to it. Our favorite feature at the Retreat is the food. It is by far the main attraction because of the gourmet selection; there are gluten free and vegan selections along with full meat & fish selections each night. The setting in the Cascade Mountains is spectacular. Sleeping arrangements are comfortable but are on the rustic side. We will continue to revisit 2-4 times yearly as a quick weekend getaway and during winter holidays.

Can't think of a better get-a-way place. Beautifully maintained property. Very peaceful setting. Comfortable rooms, and food to die for! Perfect romantic spot for a couple but fun for our family (2 boys ages 15,16) as well. Fabulous rock grotto pool and game room with pool/ping pong etc. Nothing like all you can eat gormet food for teenage boys. We certainly get our moneys worth

I stayed here with a girlfriend in early August on a quick Cascade Loop trip and fell in love with the quiet forest setting, the comfortable rooms, the pools and the dining lodge. Decided to treat my family to a couple of end of summer vacation days here. Children 14 and 12. We loved all the options for activities, the games room, the workout room and the pools. The rooms (we had a loft room in the Pond Pod) are small but they work. It was a bit tight for 4 of us and it would have been nice if they had paid attention to the fact we needed robes and towels for 4. The food is incredible and so well done and thought out. They cater for a very wide range of tastes/ages/dietary needs. We had breakfast everyday and dinner one night (dinner is pricey but very good - you can get pizza and tapas at the Grotto wine bar on the property but the pizza is ok and takes forever). There are riding stables next door and the family enjoyed a 4 mile trails ride for $50 each.
The resort reception staff are excellent and I appreciated they made my son feel special on his birthday - they sent a dessert plate to our room and had a card ready on arrival. The diningroom staff take a bit long to seat people but since its mostly buffet style service isn't much of an issue.
The organic garden with views of the mountain is incredible - take a book - sit a while - it will do your soul good.
It feels like a summer camp for grown-ups with some luxury resort perks thrown in.
Not cheap but we loved it. We will go again.

We had such a great experience at Sleeping Lady. The room was clean, charming and very comfortable. The lay-out of the resort is beautiful. The way the rooms are arranged made us feel like we were in a very private retreat. We especially enjoyed cooling off in the gorgeous pool and relaxing in the evening at the Grotto bar. Great place. We're already trying to plan for another visit.

Returned to this wonderful spot after a few year's absence. Little had changed but it was beginning to look a little shop worn. I was delighted when I made the reservation to learn they now have a coupe of dog friendly rooms. I stayed in a dog companion room and it was a little too "dog friendly" for me. It smelt of cleaning products combined with strong dog odor. I have a small small dog who is very clean. The staff were were still very friendly and helpful; the setting remains breath taking and unique. The grotto bar had live music and the musicians was amazing, the bar food, however, was not good and I left half of it. I ordered from the Tapas menu.

We stayed 2 nights; the first night we had a loft room in Cottonwood, the 2nd night we were in the Fountain Cluster. The fountain cluster was roomier and the fountain in the center was beautiful and peaceful. It also had a sitting area and the 2nd single bed downstairs was a window-seat. We liked it much better.

Our first night was through Expedia and did not include meals. I suspect it is why we had the smaller, less appealing (still very nice) room as well.

The food is amazing, and although at first seemed too pricey for our family of 5, it was well worth it for the amount and quality of food. We were even invited at breakfast to take some fruit "for the road" from an impressive selection of local fresh fruit.

This would be a wonderful retreat for adults seeking peace and serenity in a beautiful outdoor setting. Our children (10, 8, 5) loved the pool which was built to look as though it's made from natural rock and has a waterfall spilling into it. It was a special treat to swim after dark since it is open all night. We did feel like we needed to shush the children as we walked around the resort paths, as it was very quiet and peaceful. But no one instructed us to do so. The staff was very pleasant!

We would recommend it!

This place was incredible, we celebrated our anniversary there last weekend. The staff was very friendly, the room we had was the Alcove which had lots of room. I can only imagine what it would look like in the winter looking out the window at the snow covered ground. The food was incredible aswell.
