“Nifty theme and good eats!”
Reviewed 3 October 2013

Last week we stopped at the 59er on our way to Leavenworth. Loved the 50's motif. The jukebox played all the hits I remember as a kid. (Ooops! I guess I've dated myself!) Although "Flo" the waitress had to keep turning the volume down, I enjoyed the overall mood. We didn't have a meal. Just a cup of coffee and the blackberry cobbler, which was outstanding ala mode. I would definitely recommend it as a good stopover before reaching the alpine environment of Leavenworth.

Room Tip: My friend got the Canadian fries and they looked yummy!

After we checked in and saw that we couldn't even get child in wheelchair to the cabin, two of us had to carry her in on the ice that hadn't even been attempted to be cleared, again we made it very clear that we were bringing a HC child. Next morning we all got freezing showers, when we called to Inquire we were informed that a cabinthat rented to sleep6 ppl had a20gallon tank. Then came the overall dirty conditions of the whole place,we had to ask for a broom and vacuum just so we could try and allow our child out of her wheelchair.the pictures on their website are very misleading, much much smaller than appear. We spoke with the owner more than once about all the conserves and were never even apologized to for any of it. Women in dinner were wonderful,i feel there boss could learn some customer service skills from them. Would never recommend for any handicap person and our family certainly will not return.

Very impressed with the cute themed cabins. Also very cvenient you can snowmo right outside your cabin. Snowmobile guide took us everywhere, showed us some moves, and treated us like friends! We had a great time! Would definately be back! Conveniently located near Stevens too :-) .

Room Tip: Check out the themes online :-)

Loved our stay at the 59er Diner. We were able to get the Jungle Cabin after our other Cabin was without power. It was a very small cozy trailer park model. Diner had excellent food and very busy as they are just over Stevens Pass. They even offer to make hot sandwiches if you call ahead. A great way to end a day out in the snow. Our friends got the bed and we got the bunkbed room ! everything you need. We even had Gracie our friends dog with us. While she had to stay kennelled while we were riding she loved the snow and resident dogs were friendly and they all wore themselves out. We did a night ride up to the tower and then helped blaze trails with Joe. Fish Lake was still closed so we are ready to go back for more snowmobiling

Room Tip: Our cabin was the Jungle cabin. they are all theme decorated and I'm sure just as cute. Ours w...

We stopped at the 59'er Diner on our way home from Leavenworth, after hearing so much about it for years. I thoroughly enjoyed a strawberry shake, but the BLT was just the average. I did like the spices on the fries, but there was a bit too much on them. My husband had the Cadillac burger w/ the special of the day, sauteed chantrell mushrooms. He said it was just an average tasting burger, though it was pretty big, but decided he didn't like chantrells, though mushroom burgers have been one of his favorites for years. The decor is delightful, the staff is incredibly friendly and very attentive and if you want a great shake, this is definitely the place to try one.

We enjoyed a chicken fried steak diner and their meatloaf dinner at the suggestion of our daughter's family. They enjoyed staying nearby and had breakfast/diner while there. It was a fun place for their family to get away for the night. We were staying in Leavenworth, but drove back to have dinner there. Like 50's music, and all the waitresses' are named FLO....LOL....I had chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, country gravy, veggies, and roll. My husband tried the Meat Loaf, altho, skeptical, it was very very good, with a gravy, mashed potatoes, veggies, roll, and he added a salad. The cost was $25.87, we didn't order beverages, had water. We were too stuffed to try deserts or shakes....we thought the meal was tasty, and enjoyed visiting with the locals, the staff, and enjoyed the music, and all the 50's stuff....service great, food hot, good place to stop and have a bite to eat.....

Room Tip: We didn't stay overnight, we stopped in for a home cooked meal.

This review is for the diner's milk shakes. Our cabin was pretty close to this diner and we decided to run out for a sweet treat after dinner, so we came here. The inside is really cute, very kitschy. You feel like you stepped into the 50's with all the decor and juke box. Their claim to fame seems to be there milkshakes and I cant attest that they are indeed very good. My husband loved his chocolate peanut butter, I loved my chocolate, and the girls loved their cherry...all of them were piled high with whip cream and sprinkles. We will definitely make this a stop on all our trips out here!
