I have stayed here on labor day weekend the last three years. Overall it's been enjoyable. It is expensive for "camping" but it is close to town, we ride our bikes, and its on the river.
Our kids swim in the river every day. **Don't let your kids go alone supervision is a must on the water. It's very cold and there is some current.
If your dog is cool-listens to commands, doesnt incessantly bark, does not bite, can swim- bring him along. Many bring along pets however some ill behaved dogs are present (bad owners! Leave them home).
There is a pool and hot tub, we are at the river mostly and don't use it but other families with smaller kids seem to enjoy it.
Price for tenting is in the 90.00 a night range but tent sites are big enough to share to reduce cost. We share with family and split it.
Lots of big RV 5th wheel spots.
The bathrooms are limited and each morning the men's has only two sit downs to share by the pool. There is often a line so plan ahead.
This KOA is missing a great opportunity with floating the river. The process makes no sense so if your confused after reading its normal.
So you have to go into town with a vehicle and pay for tube, kayak rental. They shuttle you back to where you are
staying. Then you walk down to the river pick up floating device, float river. They pick you up and take you back to town, drop you off then take the tubes back to the put in site. That's right, exactly at the same place your staying.
The won't let you pay over the phone or shuttle you back to the KOA.
This could be done much more efficiently for the KOA guests. In the past Guests could pay at the office walk down to the river get a tube and be shuttled back to the KOA. This might be due to the "new management" I hope they see the light.
Everyone had a good time and more than likely we will return.
