Description: This family-owned business has been bringing Bavaria to Leavenworth for over 25 years. The chef, Anita Hamilton, has been personally overseeing the kitchen since 1991 and is a native of Germany. The made-from-scratch desserts, soups and entrees are reminiscent of traditional Gasthaus fare. The owner, Heidi Forchemer, travels to Germany yearly for new menu ideas. Her son, Max, can be heard playing his button accordion most weekends, along with other local musicians, such as Tom Tilton of the Alpenfolk band. It simply doesn't get more authentic than this!

We used to travel in Germany where our favorite part was Bavaria with its great food and world class beers - "flussiges Brot." After we moved to Camano Island in 1998, we "discovered" Leavenworth in 2005. The Andreas Keller was right across the street from our hotel (Bavarian Lodge, we reviewed here on TripAdvisor). When we skied in Europe, our host was "Andreas" - who could resist? In the old days, whenever we could, we celebrated my birthday in Munich with a Schweins Haxe which remains my favorite and the Jaeger Schnitzel that is my wife's favorite. We were delighted to discover that Andreas Keller serves a world class Haxe and Jaeger. To reassure ourselves, we go back several times a year to make sure everything is good and the beer remains authentic - it has never disappointed us.. Jeff, the owner, and Allie, the manager, have always been responsive to our special requests. Their operation is as authentic as you will get outside Bayern. This weekend, our family will be travelling to Leavenworth to celebrate my wife's 80TH birthday specifically at Andreas Keller. For such a very special occasion, you want a very special place - Andreas Keller is it!, Zum Voll!

If you've ever been exposed to truly traditional german food, you want to find it again. This is the ONLY restaurant west of Philadelphia that we have found with real german food. Not americanized german food, which is NOT the same! Wonderful food, wonderful people, we were lucky to sit at a table with the prior owner, who is the father of the current owner. She is still upholding the traditions that her father Andreas began.

My first trip to Leavenworth-what a wonderful dinner! The atmosphere was wonderful. Our waitress was Rita. She was knowledgeable and so very sweet. She was attentive w/o bothering us every 3 minutes. The hot spiced wine was wonderful. We had 2 drinks each (2 people) 2 entrees, 2 desserts and an appetizer. The bill was less than $90.00. What a treat!
