“Great stay!”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

Went during a festival with my hubby and daughter. Rooms were very clean and nice. Loved the hot breakfast! Room was spacious! Can get a little loud really late at night with kids running around slamming doors though, but when it's a festival weekend you should expect some noise. Overall a great place to stay and would certainly stay here again!

A great place to stay just a few short steps to Front St. Room was as always clean and spacious with a microwave and fridge. The front desk staff are excellent dealing with questions and offering suggestions of things to do.
As others have mentioned the Lodge is currently being extended. The staff were very helpful and offered a choice of rooms to avoid any disturbance. We actually stuck with our room, 317. The noise was minimal when we stayed but check with the front desk. They know what's going on day to day. Renovations are scheduled to finish in August.

The Bavarian Lodge in Leavenworth WA combines old-world hospitality with modern convenience. We have never encountered a friendlier front-desk staff. Sylvia and Scott, and the rest of the staff, were extremely helpful and friendly, both upon our check in and later in our stay, as we came and went through the lobby. They consistently greeted us and made themselves available for advice about where to eat and what to see in Leavenworth WA.

Our room was a standard double queen room facing the city center of Leavenworth. It was very clean and well appointed with lots of extra pillows, a comfortable arm chair, a table and chairs and a flat screen television and a DVD player. The hotel has an extensive DVD movie collection and there is no limit to the number of movies that can be checked out from front desk. The under-the-window AC/Heater unit was the quietest unit we'd ever used. The sleep mode was quiet enough to sleep through while still providing fresh air. The room also held a small refrigerator and a microwave oven. There was a coffee set up but fresh coffee, as well as tea, cider and hot chocolate, is available in the lobby at all hours. We took a peek at one of the Tower rooms. It had a king-sized bed, a fireplace and a spa-tub, as well as a small fridge and microwave.

The Bavarian Lodge offers a breakfast buffet in the main floor breakfast room. The food was fresh tasting and abundant. We were really happy with the breakfast hours of 7-10AM Monday-Friday, 7-10:30 Saturday and Sunday. There's nothing happy about needing to rush breakfast when you're on vacation. The breakfast served a variety of hot dishes including choices of ham, sausage, omelet and biscuits with gravy. There was a make-your-own waffle station, and muffins and scones. There was also cold cereal, instant oatmeal, and fresh fruit and juices. Starbucks coffee and other hot beverages were available. The seating area was clean, comfortable and well furnished.

One morning, after breakfast, we sat in the nearby lobby on a cushy sofa and drank more coffee and read the newspaper. The lobby is comfortable and lodge decorated. One of the books in the hotel's library is a book about historical Leavenworth with loads of fun photographs. Be sure you read the captions on the photos. Some are very enlightening about the times. Such as the photo of the man with a fox he'd trapped then raised as a pet...until the price of fox pelts rose. Or the woman who fashioned her own baby carriage that could be steered on the railroad tracks into town.

The Bavarian Lodge is located right across US Highway 2 from the city center of Leavenworth. The rooms on the city center side are a bit more expensive than those facing away from the highway. The view from our room was spectacular. We looked out on the front street park with its gazebo and further off we could see the snow covered mountains in the distance. That view of the mountains is one of our primary reasons for frequent visits to the Upper Wenatchee River Valley area. One would think that the highway noises might be disturbing, but once the window was closed, the noise was barely noticeable. In fact, the only noise we experienced was from children running and jumping off the beds in the room on the floor above ours. We didn't take any action because that noise stopped at 11PM. The Bavarian Lodge is a family friendly hotel, so some noise from children is to be expected. The next time we stay we'll ask for a top-floor room.

Leavenworth has a lot of great restaurants, most within easy walking distance from the lodge. There is also good shopping nearby. Leavenworth is a pedestrian friendly town, with several crosswalks over the highway. The same folks who own the Bavarian Lodge own the Copper Creek boutiques. Check out the boutiques for home decor, clothing and gift items.

As of this writing, April 2014, the lodge is undergoing an expansion. More than 45 luxury rooms are being added to the south side of the lodge about half will face the city center. All of the new rooms will have balconies, roll in/walk in showers and fireplaces. We were given a behind the scenes tour of the expansion and really can't wait to stay again, hopefully in one of these new rooms. There was some noise from construction on the Monday morning of our stay, but not until after 8AM and it was obvious that the crew and the hotel staff was doing all they could to keep any disruption to a minimum. The new section is expected to be open by late summer. The hotel is taking reservations for these rooms beginning August 15, 2014.

Overall, our stay at the Bavarian Lodge was enjoyable, all the things we hope for from a stay in Leavenworth. We hope to stay here again on a future visit to Leavenworth.

Room Tip: Stay on the top floor if you can. The hotel is family friendly, so you may here the pitter-patter of...

This place is wonderful! The lobby is very inviting, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the rooms were very clean and comfortable, and breakfast was awesome and complimentary! Four diamond resorts in the area don't even compare!

We stayed here for 2 nights before the Easter long weekend and I can truly say that we made the right choice in lodging. We were a bit afraid that all of the hotels here were going to be too "rustic". However, we were wrong. While the Bavarian Lodge definitely had a rustic feel, the rustic feel did not impact it's cleanliness in any way. The hotel felt very spacious and clean throughout despite its rustic decor.
The hotel is right across the street from the main thoroughfare, thus the location is perfect. The staff were extremely friendly throughout our stay. The hotel had numerous wonderful small touches-including a piano in the lobby, oatmeal cookies in the afternoon, and 24-7 coffee/tea (Tazo tea and Starbucks). They also had a large and up-to-date DVD collection full of the latest movies should you decide to make it an indoor evening. Breakfast was very satisfying. There was a full complement of both sweet and savory breakfast dishes to choose from. My favorite was the mini-waffles from the mini-wafflemaker.
Our room was equipped with a microwave and a bar fridge. My boyfriend really enjoyed the heated fan in the bathroom. For the ladies, there is a hairdryer and cotton swabs/pads to use as make-up removers.
Only downside: the computer in the lobby was VERY slow (like 512 mb RAM using Win XP)-almost unusable. My boyfriend couldn't log-in to his email. Not a dealbreaker because the Wifi otherwise was great throughout the hotel.
One more note: We didn't notice the construction noise to be an issue at all for us.

Room Tip: Get a room away from the first floor. The lobby can be noisy when the piano is going and people are...

This was an awesome hotel! We arrived early and our room was ready for us to check in. The lobby was very inviting with the couches and the fireplace. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly, and told us everything we needed to know.
Love the coffee/tea/hot chocolate bar in the lobby open 24/7. Our stay included a wonderful breakfast bar, the beds and pillow were cushy comfy, and sitting in the hot tub has an amazing view of the snow-capped mountains!
Very clean well-kept hotel, I would for sure recommend!

Room Tip: Make sure you say you want the city view, otherwise it's a view of the parking lot. The front co...

We stayed 2 nights in summer 2013.

Lots of parking options despite some construction at the time. Front counter staff professional, efficient & friendly. One of the ladies even took our picture under the clock adjacent to the entrance! Had a jug of cool cucumber water available after a hot day of travel!

We had a room on the 4th floor in the rear. Upscale materials & surfaces plus a leather chair for a very reasonable price. Microwave, coffee maker, fridge and plenty of storage spaces. AC worked perfectly (this is a big deal having stayed in plenty of places were it either didn't function or was pathetic and/or loud). We didn't find that any touch or detail was missing.

Location right in the heart of the extremely pretty town of Leavenworth. Able to walk to everything including the park trails along the river.

Very personal and homey decor in the lobby with a big old fireplace, comfy seating, a piano with a bit of a history & the resident bears! Truly felt like spending some time in your living room at home despite other guests & staff coming and going. Try the board games or free DVD movies if you desire.

Breakfast buffet with many fresh & hot options included. Dining room doubled as a conference room so wasn't particularly intimate, but that is admittedly a minor quibble.

I would recommend that innkeepers from hotels & motels everywhere come here and take a few pointers back to their local establishments!
