“You won't regret staying here”
Reviewed 27 June 2013

Brad and Kathy have really perfected the most perfect get away. Our honeymoon started off at mountain home. Brad helped us bring our luggage up to the ponder rock, which has the most amazing view. We woke up each morning to the site of mountains and the sound of birds. They were most helpful with restaurant suggestions as well as helping us find the coffee mugs we were looking for. We could not have picked a better place to stay. The view, the seclusion, the piece and relaxation as well as the most hospitable hosts.
Thank you Brad and Kathy

It is so nice to hear from you that your honeymoon started off with the perfect hideaway secluded in our pristine meadow here in the Cascades. The serenity is wonderful to take a deep breath and truly relax after the craziness of planning a wedding just days before. Jon Muir coined it so well almost 100 years ago in his quote: Only spread a fern-frond over a man’s head, and worldly cares are cast out, and freedom and beauty and peace come in”. Your gracious compliments make us blush, as sharing the amazing mountain paradises we are so fortunate to own is our honor and welcoming it and sharing with our guests is an equal personal pleasure.
Congratulations on your new union and we send you are very best wishes for a lifetime of wonderful experiences and joy such as those her on the Mountain. ~ Kathy

My husband and I spent another 4 days at Mountain Home Lodge. We like to refer to it as our annual marriage retreat! It is by far the most beautiful, romantic, relaxing place we've been. From the time you settled in, until the time you leave, you feel right at "home". The food and service are always incredible. Owners Brad and Kathy Schmidt have said it best; "when you're at Mountain Home Lodge you are 1000 feet closer to heaven." We can't think of any better words to describe the experience!

Room Tip: The cabins are incredible! Spectacular views, cozy fireplace, comfy king size log bed, and a spa. Ne...

If you are planning a trip to Leavenworth and need a place to stay, look no further. We spent 3 nights during the first of June and it felt like we were there a week. We had a very relaxing time. Owners Kathy and Brad and their entire staff were very attentive, their chef makes the most fantastic food and you get to hang out with Millie their dog and their cats, Jack and Crackers. We love to hike and there are many trails behind the lodge that we enjoyed beautiful vistas. We are looking forward to going back again, probably in the winter time to snowshoe. Thank you again Kathy and Brad for your great hospitality!

So glad to hear our 4-legged staff, Millie, Cracker and Jack were all well behaved and providing you with a relaxing escape. It is amazing how being secluded up here on the mountain how far removed you feel. It is a magical secret of Nature that helps refresh your mind, body and spirit so you can return to your busy life with renewed energy and inner peacefulness. You will have a great time in the winter as the Cascade snows turns our resort into a true winter wonderland! See you then - - - Brad, Kathy and our faithful trail dog and lounge cats.

We spent 2 days enjoying our anniversary in May at Mountain Home Lodge. In the springtime this is one of the most stunning and beautiful places on earth. The hosts are wonderful and generous, the hiking trails are amazing, and the food and attention to guests are of the highest quality. If you come here once, you'll want to come back.

Thank you for your words of praise of Mountain Home Lodge. Spring is an outstanding canvas of color and new beginnings as the mountain come alive with returning songs of the many birds and the birth of many forest animals. We are pleased to hear that the tranquility of the resort was the perfect destination for this special anniversary celebration. We do hope to welcome you “home” to “the Mountain” on a return visit, perhaps trying on of the other 3 seasons... we do not think they will disappoint!

Enjoy the arrival of summer - -Kathy

Stayed here the weekend before Memorial Day for our wedding anniversary. The Mountain Home Lodge makes you feel at “home” from the very first time you walk into the lodge. Kathy Schmidt was an excellent host, even though she was dealing with her husbands “bike” problems. The executive Chef was very accommodating for my wife’s diabetes’s, making her a sugar free dessert for our dinner and breakfast on our last day of our visit. The room was very nice and comfortable. The lodge grounds have many walking trails and is very peaceful and relaxing. I highly recommend opting for the “dinner option” it was well worth the cost. 4+ Stars. Kathy and her staff are very nice and helpful with ideas for things to do in the Leavenworth and Wenatchee area. I would definitely stay her again. The drive up to the Lodge is a dirt road for at least 90% of the road once you leave Leavenworth. But is very well maintained.

It is always a pleasure for me to welcome our many visitors from all over the world to our intimate resort. Brad and I are fortunate to have found such a rewarding and fun “career” in a gorgeous four season location for recreation and relaxing. Chef Ron is a great asset to the resort with his delicious culinary surprises.

We appreciate you taking a moment to share your experience on the Mountain with us and with others. Enjoy a wonderful summer ahead and we look forward to seeing you again if your travels send you our way. Cheers, Kathy and the MHL crew. PS: Brad and his broken clavicle, punctured lung & broken ribs are healing well after his little mishap on his bike.

We spent three days at Mountain Home Lodge. It was so spectacular, it's somewhat impossible to use superlatives. The best setting for a lodge we have ever enjoyed. The food was amazing, our cabin was luxurious and well-appointed, and the trails up to the ridge and the lookout had views to die for. For our 35th anniversary, it was a splurge worth every penny!

Room Tip: Ponder Rock (Cabin 2) was amazing!

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights over New Years. It was so awesome! Everything was gorgeous. Food was amazing and staff was very sweet and helpful. We snow shoed for the first time to the most breathtaking scenes and cross country skied and went sledding. It was so fun and romantic. We stayed in the suite and loved it (would prefer the privacy of a cabin but were sold out). The lodge us very beautiful. It was a great New Years for sure!!

We have to agree that the magic of a winter visit is very memorable! Arriving via snowcat or the “monster van” to our resort starts of a wonderful adventure. Enjoying the privacy and beauty of your own romantic refuge is a special treat. There are so many wonderful experiences awaiting you and your special partner... fun and thrills racing down the 1,700 sledding hill or perhaps a snowshoe into the pristine wilderness out your door. MHL is a soothing retreat for many to renew peace and calm in a tranquil mountain. This is an exceptional holiday for many and we are glad you found what you desired in your trip to our hidden treasure in the Cascades. Kindly, Brad & Kath
