“nice beach stay”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

Eco-friendly, very close to beach, friendly staff and everything in the room you need. Very dog friendly. A little noisy. We had a mixed experience in the restaurant. Very accommodating staff and extremely relaxed place.

Quality amenities-- organic and fair trade toiletries and coffee, real cream for coffee, even the water was well done with orange slices for flavor-- simple comfort. Incredible food. Loved every minute.

I received an excellent deal and enjoyed many of the amenities available. I liked the live music offered in the restaurant as well as the free access to dvds and games in the lobby. The room had a great view of the ocean and was a true delight.

We've visited Adrift w/our friends before, and this was yet another lovely, relaxing stay. Even our dog seems more relaxed here! The view from Pickled Fish can't be beat (and the food is fabulous, too). We enjoy the bath products so much that we purchased some in the lobby this visit. We took some beach cruisers on the Discovery Trail and I could've stayed out all day pedaling - so scenic and relaxing. We had to leave windows open at night for the breeze, and the late-night revelers woke me up, but luckily I didn't stay awake for long, otherwise I would've made use of the complimentary ear plugs.

We stayed at the Adrift for a wedding that was being held there. The entire staff was incredible and accommodating. They gave everyone exceptional service and the room was comfortable and nice. Thanks for making our memory of this special occasion unforgettable.

If you like quirky, austere accommodations, this is the place for you. Great location, free bikes, nice coffee in lobby, great for people with dogs, but room decor may remind you of your very first apartment when you used crates for tables and had no money.

My hubby and I booked a one night stay in an "east king" as a night to get away from our two children. My parents live in Long Beach so we searched for a hotel that only required a one night stay on the weekends and here we were. We got a great rate for paying online and two free beers from the Pickled Fish for sharing on Facebook.
We arrived and we promplty checked in (no wait) and went to get tea. The hot water was out so they made us more. We perused through the movies (mostly older and some cartoons) and headed to our room.
We were in the east building but still had an ocean view (although it was mostly parking lot). The room is sparsely decorated (our preference) and it had TV/DVD as well as a mini-fridge. We did not have a microwave in our room but did not need it. The sound level to the outside is a little high...we could hear people walking up and down the stairs as well as conversations in the hallway but everyone was quiet at night. We ended up eating at the hotel restaurant The Pickled Fish and it was excellent however it made us very glad we got an east room because those rooms on the same floor as the restaurant (or even below it) were probably pretty loud. We took our dessert and beer "to go" and finished our meal in our room. The beds are amazing and super comfy...so comfy we are shopping for one right now! We slept great and check out was a breeze. I like the sustainable idea of having soap/shampoo/lotion that stayed in the room but I missed taking home my souveniers.
The only thing that was bothersome was that every time we went to the lobby to get some tea, the hot water was always empty. We would then have to stand in the line at the front counter and request more. The hot water container is very small, they may want to get a larger one (or have one at the ready) so they don't have to keep making special trips to get hot water for people. Doesn't affect my rating though and we will be back soon!
