I really wish this property had different management from the Adrift Hotel & Spa. It could be such an awesome place.
My former review was a shining 5-star review but I'm sad to say the problems we had over our wedding weekend brought me back here with a less-than-shining review.
The Inn itself is quaint and very nice for a couples get away. The issues that remain are the shoddy quality: the jacuzzi tub in our room had a loose faucet that felt like it would fall off at any given moment; the shower door was leaky and needed new seals; the painters were less than careful and the paint job was crappy; the windows don't open and there's a lack of air flow in the room.
And the management is horrible.
Instead of outlining all the issues we had on our wedding night on this review, I wrote a blog post which can be found here: http://iplaruf.blogspot.com/2012/09/wedding-night-nightmare.html
I will say that the Guest Relations Manager either suffers from lack of attentiveness or lack of communication, both of which are horrible traits for a manager of a hotel. When my new husband and I requested some compensation for the problems we had on our wedding night, I was told that the hotel "had a busy weekend that weekend with reservations and we could have filled the rooms had you all not decided to stay with us" and she hoped that the stay at the hotels "could have been separated from the bad experience with the restaurant".
Unfortunately it wasn't the restaurant that made us decide we'll never go back...it was her final email to me.
As far as I'm concerned you don't tell a customer who came to you to spend the most important night/weekend of her life that you'd be just fine without their reservations.
