“You MUST experience the Inn!!!! You will not regret it”
Reviewed 16 February 2011

We have stayed here several times. We try to go once a year and absolutely love the Inn at Discovery Coast and Longbeach. We bring our dog and now our newborn child. This was his first experience. He will come to love it as we do. The value for your money, you cannot beat it. I recommend this to all my family and friends and they have stayed here. I will be doing gift cards this year. Thank you for being so wonderful!

This was my first trip to LongBeach, the room was clean and was exactly what the pictures showed. The breakfast was complimentary and was filling and delicous! It was nice that the staff would just knock and leave the breakfast on the doorstep. The staff were friendly and very helpful, they also respected our privacy, which is sometimes difficult to find within major hotel chains.
I will definately stay here again when I return to Long Beach in the future!

A friend turned 60 and wanted a weekend on the Coast. This was a perfect place for hanging with friends by the fire, watching movies, long walks on the empty beach, solitude, and access to great restaurants. The Inn was the perfect antidote to the larger hotels. Service was friendly and respectful of privacy. The rooms were very comfortable and the views - spectacular! I had no idea that Long Beach was so beautiful and looking around, this is the only place I will stay on my return. As a beach getaway, the Inn at Discovery Coast exceeded my expectations for a relaxing weekend.

Staff was very responsive. Rooms are beautiful and have everything one would need. Was a little disappointed that the shower was dripping and there was a bucket there. For the price, everything should work or there should be a discount in my opinion. However, would highly recommend. Staff gave special touches and it was quiet, comfortable, and the room / views were beautiful.

My husband and I and our two dogs stayed at the Inn at Discovery Coast over the long New Years weekend and it was exactly what we needed in order to decompress after the stressful holiday season. We stayed in a ground floor room (#1) since those are the designated pet rooms. The view of the beach was still great.

The room is quite large and modern looking with an extremely comfortable king bed with lots of pillows and a big down comforter. There is a TV with DVD player and a gas fireplace which was the room's only source of heat. It was down in the 20's at night while we there but the fireplace heated the room just fine and it was romantic to fall asleep to the flickering of the flames. The room also had a refrigerator, which was great because we brought some sandwich fixings to have for lunch during our stay.

The bathroom was absolutely huge with a stall shower and a jetted two person tub. The best part of the tub is a panel that you can move once you are in the water that allows you to look out the big picture window, out onto the beach. Very relaxing. Oh, and I really love the soaps they provide - the lavendar hand soap made me want to wash my hands over and over again!

Every morning warm scones, fresh fruit and yogurt are delivered to your door. Don't worry about answering the door when they knock with the breakfast basket - they will just drop it on the doormat and run, which is appreciated since I usually don't want to see ANYONE in the morning. The scones will be unlike any you have ever had. The varieties we had were either filled with fruit and cream or cinnamon sugar. Simply delicious! And very filling.

One of the best parts of our stay was New Years eve. The town of Long Beach does a firework show out on the beach and you can see the fireworks from the room without even having to go outside! That was sooooo cool, especially considering how cold it was outside. You can literally lay in bed and watch the fireworks out the window.

If you are looking for a good place to eat nearby, be sure to check out Captain Bob's Chowder House up on the main drag, not too far from the hotel, in a adorably tiny yellow vintage cottage. We had some delicious clam chowder there and their crab rolls have so much fresh crab in them - a real bargain for $6.

The only negative aspect of our stay is that the coffee they provide in the room is really not very good. I would recommend bringing your own along with a few of the smaller variety of filters for the coffee pot. Those delicious scones deserve better coffee :)

Also, just a suggestion to the hotel management that they consider putting a couple coat hooks somewhere near the inside of the door. We were having issues finding a place to hang our coats.

Our stay was really so relaxing and peaceful. We are considering making a stay here our new tradition for New Years. Thank you!

We had just finished an exciting drive, wind, rain, darkness and upon arriving @ the Inn were greeted by the friendly staff and our room had the fireplace already warming it up, it was a cozy welcome.

The Inn is well represented on their website and we had a wonderful, romantic stay although it was too short.

The fresh warm scones in the morning were a treat, and the breakfast basket was a pure delight compared to some of the "breakfast included" stays we've had.

We found the Inn at Discovery Coast while searching the Internet for Long Beach lodging as a honeymoon destination. It looked great on the website, and we were not disappointed when we arrived. The room was clean and looked like the pictures on the website. We had a 3rd floor room, and the ocean views were terrific! Very relaxing setting, and we hardly heard our neighbors (we had the middle room, with neighbors on both sides). Fireplace kept the room nice and toasty, too. Loved the super large shower, almost as much as we loved the scones in our breakfast basket (the cinnamon ones are the best!). Highly recommend this hotel! Husband and I might make this our annual anniversary destination each December. Thanks for a great stay!
