“Beautiful spot”

Always love the bike to this trail head and the lovely walk to the overlook. Have never failed to see seals basking on the rocks.

“No Trip to Lopez is Complete Without a Visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 July 2013

This short 10 minute mostly level hike is definitely worth it for the views. At the end we got to see a number of noisy seals and great sights of surrounding islands. Keep your eyes peeled for the seals as you follow the shore because they can blend into the rocks.

Shark Reef Sanctuary is a must see when visiting Lopez. Doing this hike and nearby Iceberg Point can be a great afternoon of short hikes with great views.

“Short hike on near level path”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 May 2013

A pleasant hike through the woods with old growth fir stumps showing charred bark from a very old forest fire and sculptured moss in the branches. At the end of the hike, there is a sunning area for seals and sea lions, who are quite vocal. I will remember this for a long time.

“A hike in the woods to a special treat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 March 2013

The light rain didn't scuttle our hike to this very special place on Lopez Island. From the cliffs you can see an array of water fowl - and seals! We were almost mesmerized as we observed the marine animals in their natural habitat. A must see on Lopez.

“Fun easy trail”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 February 2013

Nice place to walk out to view the San Juan channel. When you get to the channel it's just a short walk to the left to sit and watch seals barking and playing on rocks. There is a small parking area, picnic table and out house at the very beginning before you walk the flat easy trail.
