“Love the place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2013

Years ago, I worked in the Columbia River Gorge. This cafe was a weekly visit for me... So, when I had a chance to enjoy the Country Cafe again on a photo trip, I grabbed it! Very good service, simple American food with good portions and home-made desserts! A great value nestled in a very expensive area for tourists. Enjoy you trip, save some money and eat a good meal fro a reasonable price here...!

“Its like walking into the living room of small town USA”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 June 2012

It's like walking in to the living room of small town USA. There's one dinner special each night; like pot roast, prime rib, or spaghetti. & there are homemade pies! To be honest, the food is just ok. The real deal is just being here.Start a conversation with Rose the owner as she takes your order, or Dave her husband who also cooks; & the whole place may join in, or you can join in their chat...enjoy a small town yet unspoiled. And say hello for me.

“Friendly place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 May 2012

This is a small cafe where if they know your name you are likely to be greeted at the door "Cheers style." The locals carry on conversations across the room and visitors are always welcome to join in. The food is small-town cafe food - hamburgers and sandwiches with a featured dinner item each evening. Don't stop here if you want pretentious or stiffly professional. If you're looking for a friendly place to eat; you'll enjoy it.

“Family owned...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2010

So, you walk into this place, grab a seat among the locals, get greeted warmly and choose something off the menu. The food is average, it's edible, not fancy at all, and the locals like it that way, so do the visitors. This is the kind of place where the cook might actually deliver your food and if you want a refill on your drink just speak up. This is by no means the sort of place you go to if you want gourmet food, snobby waitresses and culinary school graduates in the kitchen. However, if you are in this part of the Gorge and want a breakfast that will fill you up or a cheeseburger for lunch/dinner this is a good place to go. They also have FREE Wi-Fi so you often see people sitting with laptops doing various business.
