“Generous and Tasty”
Reviewed 8 December 2013

My expectations were exceeded when my breakfast, one of the " slightly smaller breakfasts" on offer, was placed before me -- a large serving of delicious hash browns, beautifully scrambled eggs loaded with chunks of tender ham and plenty of mild cheddar cheese, wholegrain toast, and what tasted like homemade strawberry freezer jam! I ate until I could eat no more, and took the rest home, which my husband and I enjoyed the next day, with the addition of another scrambled egg.

This was the "1/2 Ham & Cheddar Scramble" -- I can't imagine how large a plate is necessary to serve the full-size version, listed under "Hearty Breakfasts!"

He had the pancake breakfast -- the biggest pancake we'd ever seen -- with two over-easy eggs and two sausage links, all very tasty.

The service was excellent, and the coffee definitely a cut above that served by most restaurants of this type. We enjoyed looking at the other rooms in the restaurant, each with a unique theme, and will return again for both the excellent food and friendly service.

“What a meal!”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

Do all Dutch mothers cook like this ??? wonderful 16" Dutch pannoken , like a big thick flat crepe, served with assorted toppings, I just had butter and syrup so other flavors didn't interfere with my first impressions. Really great ! Also had eggs, so good they must be local, and what can only be called farm bacon, really a wonderful meal. And the ladies serving mostly had accents, to go with the European décor. If anyone has ever been to Solvang, Calif ?? Lynden is what Solvang started out as back in the 1960's , a cute little town with an authentic Dutch look and feeling. Hopefully Lynden will stick with what works and not go all Hollywood like Solvang has.
I thought the prices were just right for what you get, a meal that will last you until dinner ;>)

“Downtown Restaurant”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

This Dutch themed restaurant has a few interesting items on the menu, but is rather pricy. It is only one of a limited number of local restaurants that is sizeable enough for a larger dinner party. Nice atmosphere, varied seating. Not a really good choice for lunch if you are in a hurry. It is right downtown, so you are close to the many events/parades that happen here. It is not open very late evenings or at all on Sunday (very few places here are open Sunday except for fast food chains west of town).

“Good food but pricey”
Reviewed 18 June 2013

Had a hamburger and onion rings. Son had a Dutch pancake, was delicious. Wife had chicken pot pie. Food was plentiful. price was a little high. The decor was nice. Son enjoyed playing in the Dutch Shoe. Not sure if I would go again, since I could probably find the same food for cheaper price elsewhere. But since I was in a tourist town, it was fine. Our friends local to the area recommended the place, so we trusted their suggestion.
