“Neat, clean and great outdoor space”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

We checked in after a long drive in from Alberta and in under 5 minutes we were on our way up to our room. The room was clean, the beds were comfy and the shower had good pressure, pretty much everything you want in a hotel room.

After returning from a long day sightseeing in Seattle, we rested outside near the fire pit they have in the back courtyard. They also have several lounge areas with couch like seating out there, making it great for several different groups to be out there, and still have privacy. There was also a hot tub, swimming pool, restaurant and store, but we were usually out too late to want to take advantage of any of these amenities and just went straight for the cushy beds and nick at nite.

There was a Trader Joe's, an Albertsons and a Walmart close by for us to stock up on all of our favorite American goodies and there were also several restaurants and the fantastic Alderwood mall nearby as well.

All and all, great place in a great location -- just off the 5, making the 15 minute drive into Seattle a breeze. Would definitely stay again.

We booked 2 rooms at the same time, expecting that they would be beside each other. When we checked in, they were on opposite sides of the hotel...however the lady at the front desk was able to change this so we were closer. We loved being on the first floor with doors that opened up to the courtyard and the firepit looked very nice - we did not have time to enjoy it tho. We even saw people roasting marshmallows - had we not been so exhausted from travelling, we would have loved to give this a try! The rooms were nice and clean, beds were comfortable.

Our main problem was that we were travelling on a very tight budget and our credit card was charged more then the billed rate. When we asked about this, the lady at the front desk said that it was charged extra because of incidentals and if we were to use room service...which we did not. She said the charge would be corrected after checkout. But now 2 days later it has still not been corrected. Being over charged was not something that was planned for, so it took away from other areas of our planned trip. Also, we were never told that the credit card would be charged extra at the time of the booking or check-in. For this reason alone, we would not recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: First floor with doors that open to courtyard was very nice

Thank you for your review! We sincerely apologize you were not notified upon check-in that your card would be authorized for room, tax and incidental charges. This authorization allows you the convenince of posting charges to your room from our Market, Bistro, Lobby Bar or in-room entertainment. We will be sure to use this situation as a training tool for our front desk team to prevent a reoccurance in the future. We hope to see you again the next time your travels bring you to the area.

I stayed 1 night for business. The room faced the freeway, but we could not hear any freeway noise. The beds are great! While the room was clean, there was a big crack in the bathroom tile, and the wallpaper was peeling a bit. The bartender was great. She was friendly and offered us a free drink of the seasonal strawberry margarita!
All in all, a nice hotel!

I had colleagues stay at this hotel 10 yrs ago when I lived in the area and they all liked it. This was my first stay and it was good.

Rooms were clean and comfortable. They brought towels when asked. Needed help at first when opening the lock but they came up too make sure it was ok. Ended up being that the handle was stiff at the end of the movement.

The breakfast cafe setup is convenient and good is good. French toast seemed too take a little long on the mornings were were there.

Overall, I'd recommend the hotel and say it is good value vs others in the area.

Stayed here on a recent trip to North Seattle and was very happy. It has a great location close to the freeway but I didn't hear any noise. Close to lots of restaurant choices and Alderwood mall for shopping. Check in was quick an easy, room was clean and reasonably spacious. I will definitely stay again when in the area. The only drawback was that the air conditioner was noisy but that may have been my particular unit.

After spending the day in downtown Seattle, we were worried the hotel would be too far away, but it was a short 20-30 minute drive. When we checked in, the front desk person was very nice and helpful. The pool and hot tub were relaxing and clean. The beds were so comfy and the blackout curtains worked so well we slept until 11:30am the next day. Checkout was 12:00 so I'm glad we woke up :) The room was clean and updated. The sink and mirror were outside of the bathroom. We got the 2 queen bed room which had a desk, tv and a comfy chair. There was a pantry right next to the front desk to purchase food or drinks and the ice machine was right down the hall next to the elevator. There was a sitting area in the entry way I didn't get to use, but it looked very nice. This hotel is located right down the street from the Alderwood Mall, right next to the freeway. I could hear traffic, but turned on the fan and could no longer hear it. I will definitely stay here again!

Our flight was in late so got to hotel much around 11pm. Was told they saw we had 4 in our party and only a king with sofa sleeper and upgraded us (without my knowledge) to a 2 queen. Well it was a 2 queen with a sofa sleeper and a private balcony. WOW.

Such fantastic beds!!! A great nights sleep. Rooms very quiet, no noise, super clean.

Only 2 bummers- no breakfast included( but lobby has café that you can but from $4-13 a person) and parking since we got in late was really bad.

Would definitely stay here again if it is continued to be run this way. Great job Courtyard!

Room Tip: we stayed on 2nd floor and still quiet, ask to stay non facing freeway
