This was a good place with a great location if you want to shop. Close to malls as well as a short drive north to Factory Outlets. If you want to head into the city it is a short drive to downtown. Hotel was clean, new, modern. Pool and exercise room had what we needed and was open until 11. Morning breakfast was typical good HIE style, but size of room didn't accomodate the amount of people staying - but they opened up their boardroom for people to eat so worked out. The staff in the breakfast area could not keep up with food/cleaning but I think it was a factor of the hotel being sold out (all rooms used) and the two specific workers were younger and didn't have the drive or push to work fast. Overall I would stay again - and we got a great rate. On the downside (besides the breakfast workers), this is the first hotel I have stayed in with a envelop in the room for tips for the cleaning staff. I just expect them to do their job and make sure its clean. I feel you should not have to tip to have a clean room. Room was very clean, no issues.

Stayed here this past week, and it provided a decent sized room, nicely decorated, very large and nicely appointed bathroom, large fridge, microwave, 42" flatscreen, and a iron and ironing board in room. All rooms had wireless access, and about 6 or 7 routers showed up so transfer rates were fine. Rooms also came with coffee makers, but the coffee they gave was horrid. They did a decent job keeping the coffee in the lobby fresh.

The 6-9 am breakfast got very crowded from 7:30 to 8:30, so get there around 6:30 and the very limited selection is yours.

Very decent for the government rate, although some of the other hotels in the area provide a happy hour.

I'd come back if the other hotels were booked.

The staff are very polite and most helpful. The hotel is in an excellent location - very quiet, offers the usual 'hot/cold buffet breakfast' and is close to a mall for shopping. The rooms are adequate, clean and the beds very comfortable, We did not take advantage of the swiming pool, but it did look inviting. We would definitely stay here again - it is good value for the price.

my husband and I stayed at the Holiday inn and loved our experience. there's plenty of shops, restaurants and activities nearby. the drive is easy from Vancouver and the deals on shopping can't be beat! the hotel was clean and comfortable. There was a complimentary breakfast and when it's free, you can't complain! there's a great pool and fitness room as well. this hotel had excellent amenities and friendly staff.

Room Tip: we got a corner room and i think it's because there was a stairwell on the opposite side. the ro...

Booked business rooms through 800 number and requested direct billing to business. Upon guest departure, they were individually asked to pay via personal credit cards as HIE did not properly process the direct billing. Took 2 days to resolve with axnious travelers and very pushy phone calls from HIE. No responsibility for error from HIE. Very Poor Customer Service.

I stayed here recently on a girls' shopping weekend and it was a great hotel. We had 3 adults and 3 children and this was the only hotel I could find in the area that would accomodate all of us in one room. There were 2 queen beds and a pull-out sofa and the room was huge! The kids loved playing in the pool, and breakfast was great the next morning. The breakfast area was quite busy, and we could not all sit together, but that is to be expected on a Sunday morning. We would definitely stay here again!

Stayed three nights while my husband had some classes at the nearby college. Room was wonderful. . . roomy, clean and just lovely, with a flat screen TV and a heating system that did not wake us up at night like most do.
The bed was extremely comfortable! We had a king.
The pool was too cool for us, and like another reviewer, the whirlpool was foamy and too full of chlorine to enjoy. My eyes were burning after just a few minutes. Breakfast was lacking in fruit choices, eggs tasted like powdered eggs, but the sausage gravy was good.
Alderwood mall is about 3 miles away and there are many restaurants in this area too.
