Owner description: Located approximately 25 miles north of Seattle, The Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour is the only public tour of a commercial jet assembly plant in North America. Explore the interactive exhibits and displays in our 28,000-square-foot Aviation Center Gallery; then take a 90-minute tour of the Boeing plant where you can watch 747s, 777s, or 787 Dreamliners being assembled right before your eyes. There is a minimum height requirement of 4 feet (122 cm) for children participating in the Boeing Tour. To avoid disappointment please make sure to check height before purchasing tickets. This restriction is strictly enforced. ADA accessible tours are offered twice daily. Call in advance to ensure proper accommodations. In the Future of Flight Aviation Center Gallery, the Family Zone is home to a number of different activities, all designed around a theme of aircraft manufacturing and assembly. Activity carts let visitors build a simple aircraft model, or use our Lego (and Lego-compatible) pieces to express new ideas about aircraft design. A kid-sized airport and aircraft allow future pilots of all ages to practice their take-offs and landings. Currently, the Family Zone is also home to a highly engaging, hands-on nanotechnology exhibit, and a Bernoulli Table, an exciting interactive experience that teaches the relationship between the velocity of air and the pressure it exerts. Coloring and reading activities are also available, and drop-ins are welcome. Admission is free for ticket holders and for Institute of Flight members.

“Flight circa 2013”
Reviewed 12 October 2013

The title 'Future of Flight', is a bit of a misnomer, flight circa 2013 is better. I was hoping to see a window of what can be expected in the future, even if only a drawing on a drink coaster.
This 'disappointment' doesnt distract from what was a great experience.
There is a small info display of current passenger planes from both Boeing and Airbus so it includes references to the A380.
The factory tour starts with a short video and then bus transport to the biggest factory in the world.
Planes seen in production were the new B747-800, B777 and B787.
The experienced tour guide had a good range of knowledge and was very interesting.
One freshly painted B787 has the national flag on back to front.
OOPS
Will it be corrected before delivery?
The outdoors display of new planes being tested is freely accessible and there were a number of serious photographers set up. Boeing has provided viewing mounds to see over the fence.

Thanks for visiting all the way from Canberra and thanks for your candid review. We are always working to keep information fresh and to include more 'future' in our exhibits.

“Loved it!”
Reviewed 10 October 2013 via mobile

We loved this tour. Our boys thought it was very cool to see all the different size planes on the assembly lines and in the big hangers. We learned a lot about the aircraft. We enjoyed the movie to start, the bus ride, the tour, and the hands on area below. The gift shop was huge. Only con...NO cameras or anything for that matter. Leave it in the car or rent one of their lockers. They keep a tight lid on what goes on inside, but it's fun for all ages.

“Aviation enthusiasts heaven”
Reviewed 8 October 2013

We visited the Future of Flight Center and Boeing Tour twice in September. Once independently and once as part of an excursion on a Princess Cruise. The Boeing tour is scheduled for certain times during the day and take 1.5 hours. It starts with a six minute video of the history of Jet travel. You are then in a very organized manner bused over to the factory where the Boeing 747, 777, 767, and 787's are assembled. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and well spoken regarding the history of Boeing. After the tour or before if you get there early enough you can visit the future of flight aviation center that has displays of jet engines, and various aircraft models, as well as an actual cockpit from a Boeing 727. There are also displays showing the technology that went into developing the 787 Dreamliner. There is also a cafeteria and two gift shops on site. Overall this was a very informative and entertaining attraction.

Thanks for coming from Edmonton, Alberta to visit us! And you liked it so much you visited twice? Please come back again if you find yourselves in Seattle in the future. There is something different in the factory and on the flight line every day.

“See where the big airliners are made”
Reviewed 6 October 2013

We took this tour as part of a recent Princess cruise; this is one attraction in the Seattle area you do not want to miss. Everett is about 30 minutes out of Seattle, and you can get there several ways (car, tour excursions, shuttle services). You get to actually visit the plant, the largest building in the World, and see many airliners in production. The tours are guided and all of the guides are knowledgeable and very friendly. The tour requires walking and the use of many stairs in the factory; if you are physically unable to do that, they will accommodate you with alternate means of travel--you still get the full tour, just easier on your legs. Do not take your camera with the idea of photographing the planes--you have to leave all purses, backpacks, cameras, cellphones, I-Pads, etc. in lockers prior to taking the shuttle buses to the actual plant.
The tour begins in the "Future of Flight" building which is like a museum, gift shop, information center. There is plenty of parking and wheelchair access.

“Huge plane and huge hangars”
Reviewed 5 October 2013

The tour was great, large bus takes you around and the tour is well organized. You see real planes being manufactured as they are moving along an assembly line. I was amazed that they actually are moving as workers are working on them. You understand how all the parts of a plane come together, not just the small ones, but the wings and cabin and tail. It cool really... and it's a huge place.
