Want to be ripped off? Then this is your place. The owner will chastise you for not calling to make a reservation, as though this was 1993. He will explain why he is charging you 8 bucks for online reservations, but then he will add a 12% tax on top of your room AND the fee. Basically you will pay more for this tacky but clean motel than you would for the honestly priced Best Western down the street.

We stayed at the Acorn during a very bad rain storm, and stayed in the room, most of the day, watching Netflix. To say the Acorn is clean, is an understatement. It's operating room sanitary. The furnishings in our king suite were a very good job of knock off antiques. Looking at interior construction detail, the rooms must have been stripped down to the studs. It was like a new building. The outside was clean and painted nice, yet still looked 1970-80's, which was fine. The owner, Gary is a hoot, a very nice Oriental man, wanting to accommodate. Safeway across the road, with Walmart and Albertson's within walking distance. No elevator, which was the cause of some pain, and early morning noise could be an issue, as out of town contractors were also guests. This is a good thing, it gets you moving sooner in the morning for the next leg of the journey to ? Try Flyers Pub up the street, maybe 6 blocks for dinner, very good.
We would return, confident Gary and the Acorn would do their best for us.

Room Tip: We had #217 off to the right of the stair case. Nice room, lots of space, even with the kingsize bed...

My family stopped for 1 night. The exterior doesnt look sharp but the interior was absolutely clean and unique. The inn is surrounded by fast food, Walmart and Safeway. The breakfast was simple and more appropriate for adults. The room was decent. We enjoyed our night.

If you like CLEAN and COMFY, stay here! BIG emphasis on CLEAN!! This is not a smoke free property, (and being an asthmatic I was concerned that it would be ok).....the smoke free rooms are all in the same area (the reverse is true for the smoking).....really Not a problem and I would be the first to "complain" if it were so!
Continental Breakfast is included. Coffee, juice and choice of huge delicious muffins or bagels, toast or english muffins. COULD NOT BE ANY CLEANER plus the beds are comfy too.....We were upstairs at the back and it was VERY quiet.....windows open too...enjoyed that! Frig and micro in every room....no coffee pot, but there is in the lobby. We've stayed in many places that had coffee pots in the room and RARELY were they clean enough to enjoy using so, We were ok with going to the lobby. All in all, well worth the reasonable price.......

Room Tip: Rooms at the back ARE quiet...can only speak about them for sure....however, I have a feeling that t...

We stay in many hotels and motels throughout the year and always congratulate ourselves when we discover a gem. The lovely little Acorn Inn was brilliant with freshly remodeled rooms and charming decor. Mr. Wang told us that they even replaced the ceilings and papered all the walls during renovations so there was no evidence of wear and tear whatsoever - at least not in our assigned room. The hotel is located across the street from Safeway and a little strip mall, and not far away from the parks and harbor. Acorn Inn is exactly the right fit for us and we plan to return in September.

Room Tip: The room stays dark throughout the day if you like to sleep late, but open the new, heavy curtains a...

Stayed here after a recommendation from family. Had been staying at the Best Western down the road, but the Acorn was a lot nicer and much cheaper! Mr Wang on reception was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were huge, clean and nicely decorated - beds very comfy. We even returned here after some time travelling and Mr Wang remembered us and was very helpful reserving us a room. Breakfast doesn't have the most extensive selection but is more than enough: giant muffins, bagels, toast and preserves, coffee, tea and orange juice. There's a Safeway just across the road if you'd rather a hot breakfast.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, relaxed and comfortable cheap stay in Oak Harbor.

Mr. Wang confirmed our reservations promptly and followed through with an email prior our arrival. Mr. Wang's action showed he attends to details and this motel offered many attributes to provide comfort for the traveler. With free parking, clean and quiet rooms, and walking distance to grocery, pharmacy, donut, convenient stores. We were very comfortable, thank you Mr. Wang!
