Description: Nanci Main and late Jimella Lucas are two Northwest chefs who have created impeccable food legends and customer loyalty. Their Ark Restaurant and bakery in Nahocotta, Washington gained a national following for 22 years. Nanci and Jimella's Cafe' opened in 2004. The Menu includes classic offerings from The Ark and link memory and flavor. Fisherman deliver fresh catch through the back door, clams and oysters come fresh from Willapa Bay and local suppliers of organic produce and meats confirm their commitment to taste and health. The cocktail lounge serves top shelf handcrafted cocktails and there is a well rounded wine list. The Bakery makes homemade breads and desserts daily. Warm rolls are served at each table. Locally roasted organic coffee fills your cup with wonderful aromas. The intimate dining room has a comfortable bistro atmosphere and sparkles with tiny lights and fresh flowers. Chef Katie Witherbee studied with both Nanci and Jimella as well as the Le Cordon Bleu, Portland. She is a gifted chef in her own right and has built a menu that is both innovative and delicious. "The food is nothing short of outstanding...I would not hesitate to make the gastronomic pilgrimage again. " Mouth of the Columbia, restaurant review.

“Needs Heat”

Very well prepared dishes spotlighting the best of Northwest fisheries. Salmon perfectly cooked. Seafood risotto a delight. Fresh, succulent Dungeness Crab without any shell fragments. Service prompt and attentive. Lack of building heat on a cold Winter night was the only unsatisfactory element. As more patrons arrived it warmed up a bit but no one was comfortable in shirt sleeves or light dresses.

“Food you will remember forever”
Reviewed 4 March 2014

Jimella and Nancy (her business partner) have been fixtures on the Long Beach Peninsula since the 70s. After selling their large restaurant, Jimella opened the seafood market in a smaller building nearby. She and Nancy did their "retirement" plan of operating a smaller restaurant with the same type of cuisine. Although Jimella died recently, Nancy now operates the restaurant under the name "Nancy and Jimella's". My daughter worked for them in the 80s and I own their cookbooks. BUT it is much more fun to go eat there and indulge in their foods and the atmosphere. Their staff have been with them for years and the service is exceptional. Our family frequently celebrates special occasions there. Dinner is always a memorable event.

“Long Beach Penninsula Gem”
Reviewed 7 January 2014

They were busy on a December Saturday night but space was carved out for our group of four. The evening special and our choice was cioppino accompanied by a Caesar salad. The Caesar was one of the best I have ever had. The cioppino was full of seafood and was also very good. The market area has been removed since our last visit and is now a casual bar. The prices are reflective of the quality ingredients and expertise to put them together.

“All we expected and more”
Reviewed 7 January 2014

Having dined at the old Ark restaurant we expected Jimellia's would be good. But everything exceeded expectations. Wife and I shared the halibut and it was more than enough for the 2 of us. Without a doubt one of the best fish dinners I've had. Wine list is adequate and reasonably priced. Service was great. Didn't have desert, but they looked good. Just wish they were open more days of the week.
