Quality Inn - Ocean Shores
Ranked #7 of 14 Hotels in Ocean Shores
Reviewed 7 October 2010

The two nights we spent at the Ocean Shores Quality Inn couldn't have been much better. The staff was very friendly and helpful from check in through check out. The room was clean, quiet, sans funky odors, and provided a nice view of the dune area and the ocean. The continental breakfast exceeded our expectations in selection and quality.

Two other conditions no doubt contributed to the positive experience we had at this hotel. We booked a mid week stay, and none of the offered amenities were impacted by large numbers of guests. The pool and hot tub were lightly used. We may have been the only persons to play a round of putt putt golf, and the breakfast area was uncrowded each morning. Also, the weather at Ocean Shores was unusually sunny and clear during our stay. This provided optimum ocean and sunset viewing from our room, and helped dry out the dune grass and brush along the pathway one must walk to get from the hotel to the beach. Under wet conditions, a better choice for beach access would be one of the nearby paved roads leading to the ocean.

This was our first stay at the Ocean Shores Quality Inn. We will be back.

I agree with the reviews about the breakfast items. Great waffles and good variety. 3 kinds of cereal, bagels, fresh fruit, yogurt, boiled eggs, two kinds of juice, etc. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Our room was very clean. Even the small refrigerator was clean. The free wi-fi worked great. The free putt-putt golf course is fun but needs some attention. Plants are overgrown on the last hole so it's hard to putt. The only really negative comment I have is that our room was really warm, too warm. We had to run the box fan that was provided all the time. There's no way to get any ventilation in the room. The window faces the courtyard and there's no air flow. The clerk at the front desk said it's because the rooms are really well insulated. Only the rooms facing the ocean have air conditioning units. It would be very uncomfortable to stay here in the summer unless the hotel does something to improve the ventilation.

My husband and I just spent 5 days at this hotel. We found it to be spotlessly clean and comfortable. We had an ocean view room which was immediately upgraded by the kind desk staff to a top floor ocean view room. This was very much appreciated! We had complimentary breakfast which included pretty much anything you could wish for, you certainly didn't need to leave the table hungry. We found the staff to be knowledgable and friendly. We would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Ocean Shores

My mom and I stayed here on a Thursday evening and had a lovely stay - not crowded at all. It began and ended with the very friendly woman working the front desk. She was very helpful giving suggestions for restaurants and for travelling the next day. Our room was very comfortable. We had a 2nd floor balcony room with a view of the ocean (I guess) but it rained and was fogged in while we were there. We did see a deer grazing right in front of our room which was a surprise. The hot tub was great and the breakfast was adequate - clean and well stocked.

We had a family gathering in Ocean Shores to celebrate several birthdays (my 68th & the 60th, 61th & 62nd of other family). Family members reserved lodging around town. I choose the Quality Inn because it had a good AARP rating and because it was centrally located in town (I don't drive so that made it easy for my relatives, who were spread all over town). No matter whom on the staff I encountered, at any time of the day or night, from the desk clerks, the housekeepers, to the young man who sett up the free breakfast each mornnig, they were always smiling, friendly, and helpful.
Oh, and my whole family, from the 3 year old to us in our 60's, loved the mini-golf course!

I booked this hotel after reading the reviews on this site. I was surprised to discover that the property looks like a somewhat run-down economy chain motel. The public areas are cluttered and filled with cheap furnishings. Floors were dirty. The room itself -- supposedly one of the best in the motel -- was worn out, with a ripped lamp shade, burned out light bulb, stained couch and generally a decor consistent with an older mid-level motel. Breakfast was average at best. Yes, people could make waffles and yes, there was the promised bacon, but the quality and quantity of basic items was marginal. The setting, though, is great. We watched deer from the balcony, and you can walk to the beach although it is a bit of distance. On check-in, the person at the front desk raised the price by $20 over what she had quoted me on the telephone less than half an hour earlier. I would not stay here again.

We spent two nights (mid-week) at the Quality Inn during the last week of August. It's a very nice place to stay. Our room was on the first floor (no ocean view). It was very clean with a comfortable bed. The desk staff was very helpful (they knew a lot about the local area) and friendly. Each morning a free copy of the Seattle Times was outside our room. There were also free copies USA Today at the front desk. The continental breakfast was very good (waffles, hard boiled eggs, bacon, bagels, muffins, cereals, fruit, juices, coffee). It was a great value. I would stay there again in a minute.
