DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Olympia

Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 6 July 2014

I stayed the evening of July 3, 2014 at the DoubleTree by Hilton in the historic downtown of Olympia. My AAA rate for a basic king room was $170.05 plus tax and fees, for a total cost of $190.41. I recommend this hotel as the best place to stay in the historic downtown area of Olympia. It is adjacent to numerous waterfront restaurants, and it is a very clean and comfortable property. My king size bed was very comfortable, and the linens and towels were better than average.

On a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 is terrible and 10 is excellent, I rate this hotel as a solid 8. And make sure that you ask for the signature DoubleTree cookie at check in!

The room was very nice and clean with lots of space and extras that made our week long stay very comfortable. The salt water pool was delightful as well as the fitness room. The location is perfect for exploring downtown Olympia and a trip to the farmer's market is highly recommended and only a short walk away. There is also nightlife to be enjoyed within walking distance and one of the best Thai restaurants that we've ever been to Lemongrass should be sought out if you also enjoy Thai food.

The girls on reception were so helpful, they never stopped smiling, the young man who took our cases up to the room was so kind and recommended a few places to eat, all in all a delightful stay when we were jet lagged and so very tired, very clean and comfortable. Excellent location

Great location and one block to several good restaurants on the water. Be sure to ask at the front desk for any coupons for local restaurants. I asked for directions to one restaurant and was given a coupon for a free appetizer with any entree. Breakfast is not included but there was a good choice of menu options. I would definitely return.

The hotel is excellent, staff extremely friendly and the location is ideal. I only stay at this hotel when I travel to Olympia for business, wouldn't stay anywhere else. Their government rate is wonderful.

We stayed here several times when it was the Phoenix. It was good but didn't compare to Doubletree/Hilton as it is now. Beautiful renovated rooms. Right downtown and next to the waterfront, toddler park and lake with 1 mile walking path. Just a short trip to the Hands on Children's Museum. (Our daughter & grandkids live in Olympia). Great restaurants downtown too & best ones all walking distance! Worth a visit. For folks who complained about breakfast not being free, the Spar has the best around! This hotel is well worth giving up the free breakfast.
