“Exceptional hospitality!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2012

Spent 3 days at the Turtleback Farm Inn. Susan and Bill run a great B&B. Breakfasts were superb and Susan and Bill go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your time on Orcas Island. We met another couple there who have stayed at the Turtleback Farm Inn several times and said it’s the best B&B on the island. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Meadow View room and were very happy with the room.

My husband and I so enjoyed the setting of Turtleback Inn we hated to leave. The hosts are helpful without being overbearing, knowledgeable and you can tell they love the area and want you to enjoy too. Breakfasts were sterling, different each day and freshly made. Cookies or cake await you at your room door each afternoon. There is no reason to leave Turtleback except to visit the beautiful, quaint downtown area and nearby mountain views and hiking or boating. Cannot wait to visit again. Part of heaven on earth is here at Turtleback!

Room Tip: Get a room with a balcony as the setting is beautiful.

If you like the peace and privacy of a farm setting you will find the Turtleback Farm Inn your kinda place. We stayed there for three nights in the the D'Anjou room of the Orchard House. The room was larger than expected (some b&bs feel cramped) private, yet open with many windows and a balcony that was good for sitting and reading and listening to nature and star gazing if you are so lucky to have a clear night. Each need is anticipated through the many amenities and appointments. The Innkeepers are not doting but are certainly available and friendly for any needs. The Inn is centrally located on the Island and convenient for hiking around Turtleback Mountain, but to get anywhere else, you are at least 5-30 minutes away-just how I like it.

Enjoyed our five day stay. Staff are extremely courteous and very willing to help with ideas for hikes, and activities, inn is sparkling clean! Breakfast is delicious however rich and quite filling. We really enjoyed the fireplace and sherryx in the evening. No pool, but location was in the middle of the island. Rooms had own bathroom and pretty view of the farm.

While on vacation in Seattle, I decided to spend two nights at this B&B recently. You catch the ferry at Anacortes and take a 1 hr ride over to Orcas Island. This property is, without a doubt the most peaceful and relaxing location I have ever been to. Bill and Susan Fletcher, who own it, are delightful and try very hard to point out places to see and things to do while you are there. I stayed in the main house in the Valley View Room, which is one of the larger in the house. I even had a clawfoot tub! The french doors open onto a deck and you can just sit there and relax. Even when the french doors are closed, the view is fantastic. Gorgeous flowers, big trees, lots of green grass. On the coffee table in the living room you will find a scrapbook filled with pictures of what the residence looked like when it was first owned and then what they did to restore it. 80 acres of serenity, animals grazing (sheep) a couple of black bulls, ducks and roosters. I truly enjoyed my stay and look forward to returning again. The breakfasts were delicious and different both days. Yum. There was even homemade jelly (yum!). If you decide to go, I hope your trip is as wonderful as mine.

Room Tip: Check out the Turtleback Inn online and their pictures of the rooms are accurate.

My whole experience on Orcas Island was so incredible, stunning scenery, peaceful rolling pastures and ocean air, but what really made it special was how wonderfully I was treated by Bill and Susan (and their delightful help Maracruz and Becky) the three days I was there. Since I was traveling alone and was due in very late the first night, Bill said to me, "When you make it here, I want you to call me, no matter what time it is, so I know that you've arrived safely." On arrival, I was greeted with a plate of cookies, a huge fireplace and sherry sitting out. Their meticulous nature and love for their establishment shows in everything they do. From the farm fresh eggs, homemade salmon crepes (Susan is an amazing cook) immaculate rooms to their intimate knowledge of the island itself, everything they do is 100%. I can't wait to back to the Islands, if and only, to stay there again. Thank you, Bill, Susan, Maracruz and Becky!

Room Tip: For my third night there, after I asked Bill if I could stay an extra night, Bill subtly nodded. As...
