“An excellent two night stay.”
Reviewed 19 April 2014

I stayed here the night before my wedding and then with my wife on our wedding night. The rooms were spacious, clean and had excellent shower facilities. The staff were helpful, genuinely friendly and kind. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of choice. An excellent choice for couples or families.

We stayed here for three nights.
This place has only just opened so everything is beautifully "new".
Can't fault anything. It has everything you need for your stay.
Very clean. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast excellent.
We stayed in the castle room - with its own entrance.
Surrounded by open fields - very peaceful.
Would happily stay here again.

booked this hotel which is actually a farm house via a groupon offer.
The accommodation is fantastic , we had the Castle room , this had its own stairs leading up to the room, this was a large room with an ensuite, the quality of the decor is beautiful.
The location is so peaceful surrounded by fields with sheep and lambs.
there is also a snooker room, living room and gorgeous breakfast room
our breakfast the next morning was amazing

we would definitely recommend a stay here...we will return again anytime

Room Tip: castle room has its own entrance fabulous room

We stayed at Deighton Lodge as a little treat using a Group On offer; two nights for two in a double room - the Guy Fawkes.

This has to be the best B&B I've ever stayed in: the staff are fantastic - friendly and efficient and couldn't do more; the accommodation was lovely - clean, tidy, finished to a high spec; the bed was wonderfully comfortable; the breakfast was tasty and plentiful - full English and a vegetarian breakfast; wonderful and comfortable lounge downstairs with a television and sofas; a library and large DVD collection to borrow; great views out of every window; a converted barn with a snooker table to use for free and an impressive collection of football and music memorabilia; there are coffee and tea facilities in the room and a coffee machine available for use downstairs too.

It's 5 miles south of York but only a short hop to the Designer Outlet Park and Ride. It's surrounded by fields and is wonderfully quiet (bleating lambs greeted our arrival).

I look forward to returning here - a truly outstanding and memorable experience. Thanks to all at Deighton Lodge.

We bought this voucher on groupon on a whim and it was an unexpected gem!

The location is stunning. We brought two little dogs and there was acres of land we could walk in. A massive field right next to the lodge and a cute wooded area.

The facilities were exemplary. Free bike hire, a doggy kennel with beds and toys (meaning we could see some of York ourselves), a massive library and DVD collection, free wifi (not very good connection from rooms though), iPads available to borrow (though I didn't try it)

The breakfast that was included, my partner told me the bacon and sausages were delicious. There was plenty of juice and cereal available however the rest of the cooked breakfast left a little to be desired e.g. Beans came in lumps, fried eggs very oily.

It was an amazing stay. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating to our little terrors, and the views were spectacular only 15 mins drive from York. What more could you want?

We stayed at Deighton Lodge for 2 nights (groupon). From arriving to leaving the stay was very pleasant. Rob was there to meet us and show us to our room. We stayed in The Shambles room, two windows, with stunning views, wet room, gigantic fluffy white towels, mini fridge with non alcoholic supplies. A cosy warm communal lounge to relax in, an extensive dvd and book library, as flat screens tvs adorn the bedroom walls. Complimentary toiletries in the room. Breakfast room bright and airy, with lovely views. We had a cooked breakfast and omelette both mornings. Endless supply of teas, cereals, granola, yoghurts, fresh coffee, fresh juices. There is a huge snooker room adjoining the lodge, which we used both nights. Would have liked to have seen the other rooms just to compare. Would come back tomorrow. On approach to the lodge it is not clearly signposted......the road leading to the lodge is a dirt track, but you will probably see the great big white building set back before you have to turn. 5/5 well done.

A two night stay at this "just outside York" venue was v successful. Clean, modern, value for money, breakfast really good. We came for the dog friendly aspect but were extremely happy with our experience. Use the shuttle bus. York was wonderful especially The Yorkshire Museum Gardens with all those Spring flowers. Time to enjoy our fellow tourists and the joys of York.

Room Tip: If you have a pup, choose this venue.
