Freshly remodeled with kitchen and a welcome retreat after a days motorcycle ride. Close to Mt. Rainer National Park entrance and we could walk about 10 minutes to dinner and market. Simple but adequate continental breakfast. We would stay again.

Okay, I am being picky. The room was clean, in fact almost 'sterile!' And maybe it is a bit late in the season, but it just felt worn out or run down. The breakfast was minimal and the coffee weak. BUT, what pulled my chain was that they advertise, BOTH on line and on their sign out front, that they offer Wi-Fi. They do NOT have wireless in the rooms, they have it in the lobby. And ONLY in the lobby according to the desk clerk, which she told me was 'normal' for MOST hotels. And when I complained about this I got this really condescending "you must not stay in motels very much" comment! Well, we use the web for a lot when we travel - reviewing motels being just one - and it is disingenuous to advertise that you have Wi-Fi and then have the clerk tell you that "we don't mean you have it in your ROOM!" We took her advice and cut our four night stay short and went down the road to another hotel that does not renege on it's promises!

We stayed in Unit 4 which included a full fridge, oven, stove, microwave and three beds AND a futon. It more than accommodated our family of 4. We used the hot tub two of the three nights we were there and it was well maintained. There were elk walking freely everywhere we turned! The owners were very hospitable and even helped me out when I mistakenly left my hairdryer and flat iron there. Lili was very kind to help me out and go the extra mile to send my belongings back. We had a wonderful time and would recommend a stay with the Mountain View Lodge! We were well situated to enjoy beautiful Mt Rainier and Mt St Helens. I'd strongly recommend it!

This little privately owned hotel was an exceptional find. The owners were friendly and accommodating and our room was large, bright, clean, updated - we never expected to find anything like this in such a remote area. We were thrilled and highly recommend this place.

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 16 two different nights. It was great!

We stayed at Unit 1 (queen bed, fridge, microwave, futon, cable, desk, bathroom) for $75 a night. So cheap, especially for what you are getting. There's so much space inside, since it's almost like two rooms. Love the fact that it's almost like your own cabin, it's fairly private.
The room itself, as well as the bathroom, are so clean and well-maintained. No complains there. The managers were nice too.

They do have breakfast in the morning 7-9:30 (I believe) and it's all basics. Bagels, toast, juice, milk, cereals, and coffee. It will start your day just fine!

7 miles from Mt. Rainier entrance, then about 40mins to Paradise. Honestly, no matter what town you're staying at, the entrance towards the main areas to see Mt. Rainier are all going to be about 30 min + drive, so it doesn't matter if you stay in Packwood or Ashford. All the same driving time! I'd stay here again.

We arrived an hour before check-in time and the managers were very gracious and checked us in immediately. It's a small hotel in a small town 7 miles from the southeast gate of Mt Rainier Natl Park. No one was in the office when we arrived early so we sat in the very pleasant backyard behind the main building. It wasn't long before one of the managers saw and apologized for keeping us waiting. They were both cleaning rooms. They dropped everything and checked us in. A very pleasant change from other hotels where rooms aren't ready no matter how late you arrive. The room was clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay again.
