I planned a surprise white water rafting trip for my husband's birthday with a group of our friends. First of all, Wildwater River Guides had one of the nicest looking and easiest to navigate websites of the other rafting companies in the area that I researched. Wildwater's prices were also much more reasonable compared to their competitors. They provided good directions and information to properly prepare us for the trip. They were well organized and we appreciated their concern for our safety by providing helmets (not all of the rafting companies on the Wenatchee provided helmets we noticed). Wildwater provided us with wetsuits, booties, and life jackets as well.

Now about our guide. Neils was an awesome guide and made our trip that much more fun and exciting! His instructions were helpful and to the point. He was so much fun and knowledgeable! He really helped make our trip the adventurous rafting trip we were hoping for! If you're looking for a white water rafting trip in the area for a great price and with awesome guides then I highly recommend Wildwater River Guides! I know we'll be using them again before the rafting season is over!

Imagine for a moment, if you will…

A winding, greenish-blue river below azure skies dancing under the bright light of the sun. Explosions of sparking white water erupt regularly, surrounded by towering snow-capped peaks or massive canyon walls. Imagine that you are here among these river waves and brilliant sights. Beside you are family, friends, loved-ones, and strangers. This is whitewater.

There are many metaphors for the journey of life, but none better than the river. It travels in one direction, is filled with ups and downs. Hardship and struggle are present, yes, but so is calm water and peaceful, sunlit moments. On the river, when you get in over your head, you need only reach out your hand and your fellow travellers will come to your aid. The same is true in life, though often we do not realize it or we fail to lend help to those who’ve fallen from the boat. Yes, the river is more than an apt metaphor for life, and has many things to teach us. Perhaps that is why peoples throughout the ages have had such a profound attachment to rivers. Even today, there are those with a deep connection to the river and the waters that flow there. Their lives and passions are inexorably tied to it and it’s flows are as natural to them as the blood rushing through their veins.

This is never truer than for the good people who make up Wildwater River Guides. That name ought to be synonymous with whitewater in Washington state. Every member of their team exudes excellence and professionalism. Safety is always priority one, and these guides are certified swift water rescue technicians as well as first aid/CPR certified. Enjoyment of the river is also high on their list and they want to introduce you to the joys of the river and go out of their way to encourage you to keep exploring it. Beyond even the business of river guiding though, these men and women are not just guides, they are people of the river.

This review is born out of experience. I have personally rafted on the Skagit, Wenatchee, White Salmon, Tieton, Green, Toutle, and Skykomish rivers - all with WRG. I have personally been guideded expertly by Lance, Julianna, Jonathan, and Neils and I know that every other guide brings as much passion and dedication to their rafts as those mentioned. Let them introduce you to the river and learn for yourself why whitewater in Washington means Wildwater River Guides.

I have floated with Wildwater River Guides about 5 times now and have taken friends and family with me. I love adventure and these guides never cease to provide that plus amazing service. They are safety concerned yet managed to provide humor and a great time. I would not only recommend them but would go so far as to say they are the best! We had best time. We were lucky to have sunshine the entire trip, though even without that the guides would have made our adventure worth the trip! Had the great opportunity to walk up and enjoy the sites from UNDER a waterfall. Definitely a Mother's Day worth bragging about!

Came with my brother. The White Salmon is a blast. Both our guide and the other passengers were great sports. The staff very welcoming, accommodating, and most importantly, very qualified. One of the best times! Will definitely raft with them when I'm in the area next.

I heartily agree with "Irwin G" and would say the exact same thing, except we only saw 13 eagles. It was very cold and rained the entire time, but we had a great time. Our guide, Lance, was wonderful. I look forward to another trip with Wildwater River Guides.

Thank you "Shelly S" for your review about your experience with WRG on the Skagit River. We are happy to know that Lance took care of you out on the river and found away to help you enjoy yourselves with the rain and lack of eagles. This season had a record low count for salmon which created a low sighting of eagles on the stretch. We were happy to know that our groups saw more eagles then what were recorded with other companies that put on earlier then us. We hope to have you out sometime in the Spring/Summer on one of our other great river stretches. Make sure to request Lance is you wish, he works on all the other river trips that we offer. Thank you again for the review and we look forward to hosting your next river adventure. -Justine, Office Manager
